Collateral Damage
July 31, 2006
In war everyone loses. Some just lose more than others. Unfortunately some of the greatest losers are those that fall into the category of collateral damage: the innocent civilians who get caught in a cross fire, who are minding their own business, or who are hiding out and still get taken out. Saturday was one of those traumatic days in the Mideast war. Continue Reading »
Long Range Missile Strategies
July 29, 2006
It’s been said that we either learn from history or we a doomed to repeat it. So, let’s forget about what’s happening across the big pond and see what might be lurking just South of the tip of Florida. And I am not talking about Fidel Castro of Cuba either, but his heir apparent, spiritual son, Hugo Chvez. Continue Reading »
Good Action
July 29, 2006
Thursday ended up being the only day with any amount of action or movement. Friday more or less wimped out and yet ended positive, as did the week. Gold has now been up 5 of the last 6 weeks. For some reason though I still do not think the May correction is over, although it could be. It’s a dangerous market and trading stocks, be they gold, silver, or Google, is a more than risky proposition these days. Continue Reading »
Playing The Victim
July 28, 2006
One of the more interesting concepts that has crept into the American psyche, and now across our little planet, is playing the victim. A person can quickly stake out the high ground by claiming one of several points. You have been wounded by someone stronger and taken advantage of. You deserve more than you currently have. Someone else is more mean and bad than you. Convey all three and you are the hero! Continue Reading »

Sen. George Allen Gains
July 27, 2006
There was a time when he thought he would be a presidential candidate for 2008 and then something happened on the way to winning in 2006. George W. Bush popularity numbers fell through the floor. Then there was a time that Sen. Allen wondered if he was going to lose his reelection bid; however, recent numbers are at least encouraging. Continue Reading »
Spot Gold Action
July 27, 2006
As I had projected or thought yesterday, gold saw more action on Thursday, opening up $17, but closing up only $11. I’ll take the double digit up action any time. I believe gold was headed for a $25 up move; however, around noon several stories came out about Israel not going any further into Lebanon, and rumors of Hamas releasing Shalit. None of that happened of course. So, now, what can we expect on Friday? Continue Reading »
Hezbollah & Immigration Issues
July 27, 2006
Immigration has been the backbone of America’s prosperity and growth over the last two centuries. However, terrorism is now changing how immigration can and should be done. A difference in 1986 and 2006 when it comes to immigration amnesty, is the war on terrorism. The rules have changed. The dynamics have changed. This is what I see. Continue Reading »
A Wake Up Call
July 27, 2006
Phrases are coming to my mind like, “hammer your iron while it is hot”. Then there’s this one, “Make hay while the sun does shine”. Or just “pile on”. Little known Hamas got all of this Mideast mess going, but who remembers them now? We’ve fogotten all about Gaza. And so it seems is the case with al Qaeda. Remember them? Remember al-Zawahri? They sure want you to and here is why. Continue Reading »
It Is A Buyer Market!
July 26, 2006
And it is also a car buyer market. I am mainly talking about the real estate market. The real estate bubble that I’ve been forecasting has now been officially sanctioned by the leading group of real estate agents. Inventories are soaring, the time to sell increasing, and prices are dropping. Another plus for gold! Continue Reading »
Howard Dean Screams- Again!
July 26, 2006
If the Republicans can keep Howard Dean in the news, they may have a chance at holding both Houses this fall. I am amazed that the National Democratic party has kept him as their chair person. Maybe their strategy is to have someone throw the lions raw meat every now and then just to get them fighting. If that’s the case, he’s the man. But here’s what I see. Continue Reading »
Don’t Forget the “Main Thing”
July 26, 2006
In America we talk about RUNNING a business, while in Japan they SIT a business. A decade ago, we thought that the Japanese had a market on innovation, profit, and expertise. Today with Japan in the 10th year of a recession, and we’re not looking so bad. So, let us keep on running! And let us not forget Stephen Covey who said… “The MAIN THING is to keep the MAIN THING, the MAIN THING”. Continue Reading »
The History of Israel
July 26, 2006
Maybe we need another elementary review of the last 58 years lest we forget how Israel came into existence. And as a follow up, let’s do a cursory review of UN resolution 1559. I am amazed at how prejudiced the U.N. is and how anyone can place any blame on Israel for the conflict. The best that Kofi can come up with is that Israel’s response was too harsh. Should they play pattycake while more than a thousand rockets rain down on northern Israel? Continue Reading »
How Many Illegals Are There?
July 25, 2006
As I’ve said before in recent posts, how is it that the government knows how many people are here illegally? And if they know they are here illegally, why aren’t they doing something about it? So, I guess anyones’ guess works, eh? Well, how about this number. I don’t think the US immigration office knows, that’s for sure. Continue Reading »
