A Worthless UN!

August 23, 2006

Did anyone think that UN Resolution 1701 would be any different than UN Resolution 1559? The UN is totally incompetent: Kofi Annan, the upper echelons, the Security Council (what a misnomer), and the whole entity. Get my drift? What’s the point of needless debate and giving sought after seats to the prideful and incompetent. UN Resolution 1701 took 5-6 weeks to get politically correct and then France, a main driver of the resolution, immediately backs away from their commitment. Continue Reading »

A Time of Indecision

August 22, 2006

We are truly in the dog days of summer. It’s a time when many of the stock brokers take off, it’s the slowest month of the year. It’s also a dangerous time because with low volumes, stock manipulation can be more easily attained to drive a stock one way or the other. Of course no one would do that would they? Let me run through a couple of examples of this range-bound stock time. Continue Reading »

Building Self Confidence

August 22, 2006

“Doubt whom you will but never yourself” C. N. Bovee

The quote above may be offensive to some Christians but I am sure Christ understood and was full of confidence as a pattern for us to follow. True confidence in self comes from a knowledge of who you are in Christ and that you know that you’re following His will for your life! So, when you get down to it, something like ten percent of the people are CONFIDENT! But, one who is confident is neither too aggressive nor too passive, but rather, they are assertive! The Gold Market

August 22, 2006

Buying gold in this “window” is a difficult situation. We’re in a range bound season so it seems. After being up $14 on Monday, gold started out the day down and finally clawed its way back to a near draw- down only $1. Buy gold now? Not quite yet. Gold stocks were also mixed: GLD was off thirty nine cents, but the 800 pound gold gorilla (NEM) was up nineteen cents. Continue Reading »

Government Politics

August 22, 2006

Bush said yesterday that the war in Iraq was “straining the psyche” of our country. Really! Could we also add that the war is hurting our relationship with the rest of the world? Could we say that the war is costing America dearly financially? And could we say that the war in Iraq may cost Bush the last two years of his presidency? While it’s not as dicey as the two years that Monica cost Clinton, it could have the same affect. Continue Reading »

Gold And Silver Prices

August 21, 2006

After two down weeks ($31 total), gold is poised to make a run back up again. The conditions are the same old suspects; however, the biggie is called IRAN! There’s nothing like a wild -eyed dictators telling the UN and the US particularly to shove off to make the markets a big nervous. And silver looks ready to jump as well. Continue Reading »

Iran Missiles

August 20, 2006

With the weakaness being exposed in Israel, Iran started feeling a bit more arrogant and proud. The weekend saw Iran firing off some 10 missiles, telling the U.N that it would no longer observe the original sel-imposed date on August 22nd to report what they expcted to do about the nuclear enrichment program, and totally igornoring the August 31 UN deadline. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insists that nuclear power is Iran’s right and “no one will stop us” developing the country. Is tghat clear enough? Continue Reading »

Aztlan?

August 20, 2006

Pat Buchanan has just released his new book and in it, among many claims, he sees the children that are born in America in 2006, seeing the end of American domination. Really? I’ve been saying for nearly a decade now that 2012 (like a half dozen years from now), is more likely for America to see a bad ending. Maybe he and I are using different “ending scenarios“. Let’s look at his in this commentary.

Pat Buchanan says that “Aztlan is just part of the big picture that’ll bring the demise of America. In EMERGENCY, Pat Buchanan charges the Mexican regime with an Aztlan Plot, a conscious campaign to use America as a dumping ground for its poor and unemployed, both to relieve social pressure and effect a cultural re-annexation of the American Southwest. La Reconquista, the reconquest of the lands lost by Mexico in the Mexican-American War, Buchanan charges, is underway.

Pat’s scenario is predicated on the dollowing statistics. He says that “by 2050, there will be 100 million Hispanics concentrated in the U.S. Southwest. Between 10 and 20 percent of all Mexicans, Central Americans and Caribbean people have already moved to the United States. Every month, the U.S. Border Patrol apprehends more illegal aliens breaking into our country, 150,000, than the number of troops we have in Iraq.”

Mexico is just part of the problem. He sees Europe going down the toliet as well. In essence all those of European stock are fast becoming an endangered species. He leaves some of his most harsh words though for George Bush and the Republican party, claiming “The Republican Party, a wholly owned subsidiary of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is in the grip of a cult called “Economism.” It is all about money now. The GOP worships at the “Church of GDP”. No argument here, but I’d throw the Democratic party in the pot as well.

Israel Lebanon War

August 19, 2006

The war in Israel seems to be going from bad to worse. The once renowned and feared Israel IDF keeps showing up as more than vulnerable. As if the botched war didn’t show enough weaknesses, the most recent raid, a seeming violation of un resolution 1701, gave more confidence to Hezbollah. Continue Reading »

Partner Trust

August 19, 2006

“To be TRUSTED is a greater compliment than to be LOVED!” George MacDonald

No one can under estimate the power of TRUST! Whever you go to work you are entering into a partnership with the employer, employee, and other co-workers. To not comprehend that is to shorten your tenure. It is the foundation of a right relationship not only between employer and employee, but, between all of humanity in all of its efforts. A Greek proverb says it another way, “He who mistrusts most should be trusted least”. The concept of TRUST is so fundamental to life that to lose it is to lose not only your credibility but, you standing and authority. Continue Reading »

2008 Election?

August 17, 2006

We’ve yet to have the official start to the 2006 election, which has historically kicks off on Labor Day. But, we already have a person who has committed to running for President. He’s from another one of those Northeastern states. He’s a Delaware attorney. And he thinks he has a chance? Continue Reading »

Immigration Issues In Houston

August 17, 2006

Few people have heard of Harold Hurtt. He’s the Chief of police here in Houston and he’s got his eyes on Washington, D.C. Immigration laws for this year seem out of the question; however, every now and then a fighter comes back to win and haunt someone. Hurtt is worried that the U.S House may pass a law that would require at least another 2,000-2,500 police officers here in Houston.

A new immigration law could be adopted. And the Action for today though shifted from D.C. to the Harris County Courthouse, where members of the house subcommittee are conducting 21 interviews across the United States. It’s obvious they need immigration help.

Protestors for both camps made fools of themselves exercising their right of protest. And while that’s going on here in the Houston hood in Chicago, Elvira Arellano, 31, is holed up for a second day at Aldalberto United Methodist Church with the support of the congregation’s pastor. With her was her 7-year-old son, Saul, an American citizenanother part of America we have a woman avoiding being deported back to Mexico by hiding out in a church. Is this a new church-state separation issue?

Who knows where all this is going!

Spot Gold Takes A Rest

August 17, 2006

Spot gold prices have fallen four days out of five so far this week; however, there’s not been all that much movement. Monday and Tuesday was off a combined $11, Wednesday was up $6, and then today was the biggest mover- down $13, for a four day total of off $18.00. Now what? Continue Reading »
