Stock Market Strategy
September 29, 2006
No roses, no champagne, no bananas! The headlines read, “The Dow that cried wolf“. After closing UP the first four days of the week, Friday was a downer. And the markets closed out the month of September, and the third quarter very quietly. So when everyone returns Monday, October 2nd, just a month away from the elections, how to play the stock market becomes even more difficult. Continue Reading »
Choosing Political Phrases
September 29, 2006
The 2006 election reminds me of the abortion story. It all comes down to who can have the best phrase or motto that resonates with the public. The strategy by abortionists to pick PRO CHOICE as their banner was marvelous. Who in America, of all places, doesn’t want to have a CHOICE and when you add “pro” to it? In like fashion I think Bush has the Democrats on their heels by his decision to set the tone of the fall off-year election in terms of victory or defeat! Continue Reading »
Gold Front
September 29, 2006
Gold prices finished off their second week in a row UP ($20 total for the last two weeks). After bieng up the first four days in a row this week, but by only $16, the morning opening saw gold down $16+ and it didn’t look good. The US$ was strong but there didn’t seem to be any reason for such a sell off. As it turns out, gold came back $10 at the end of the day. Continue Reading »
Third Time Is A Charm?
September 28, 2006
So, no roses on Wednesday and no chanpagne on Thursday. Maybe Friday? Can the old addage work that a third time is a charm? Or, will all of those planned parties have to wait until next week. You just have to love the fact that most news services gather all the guests to talk about the big deal that seemingly is toying with them. And then we read this headline, “A Hard Soft Landing?” Continue Reading »
Don’t Settle For The Status Quo
September 27, 2006
“Even when I was young I suspected that much might be done in a better way.” Henry Ford Sr.
We are living in a time of incredible acceleration of technology and information. Corporations that do not innovate and pour much into R&D will find themselves soon out of business. In like fashion, every worker in America particularly, must learn to adjust both emotionally and mentally. You don’t have to necessarily be the first in the market place with an idea, though that helps! Continue Reading »
Dow Jones Stock Market
September 27, 2006
Is the third time a charm? Will the Dow Jones market finally break out into an all time new high? Twice this year the economic gods have teased us only to jilt us. The champagne is still in the fridge. We’re only 59.53 away from the magic number. And I am sure that number is permanetly fixed on the minds of all Americans today. Right? Continue Reading »
Housing Market News
September 26, 2006
The collapse of the housing market has long been predicted. No one believed it. Why would anyone want to spoil the party? Why would anyone think that real estate values could do anything but go UP? When that first domino falls, there is no stopping everything else that’s in the way from falling as well. Let’s examine that process a little. Continue Reading »
Human Sacrifice?
September 25, 2006
Few people are familair with Aztec human sacrifice or Mayan human sacrifice. Why would we be? Who is familair with the rain god Chac? were not talking about young virgins being thrown into the mythical volcano. The contents at the bottom of the Sacred Cenote at Chichén Itzá were analyzed, many fine objects of gold and jade were found, as well as skeletons of animals and of both men and women. But, human sacrifice comes in may forms and fashion. Continue Reading »
Economic Indicator
September 23, 2006
In these difficult and hard to figure out economic times, what’s coming up next? Who would have guessed oil at $80 a barrel or gasoline prices at $4.00 a gallon a year ago? Who would ahve guessed oil at $60 a barrel and $2.00 a gallon a month ago? See how fast things can change! An economic problem today is a benefit tomorrow and vice versa. Continue Reading »
The October Surprise?
September 23, 2006
Karl Rove has the Democrats on edge, as most parties that are “out of office” usually are when October rolls around before a November election: be it off year or not. The party thayt is out of office has been foiled more than once by what’s called the October Surprise! On numerous past occasions, a party has been gaining in the polls and poised for victory, only to have their party ended with some major announcement a few weeks before the electgion: in October of course. Surprise! Continue Reading »
Better The Devil You Know
September 22, 2006
The Rev. Don Wildmon of Tupelo, Miss., chairman of the conservative American Family Association spoke pragmatically when he said, “So, if you can’t get the whole loaf, take a half a loaf.” Is there any doubt that the Conservatives would come to the rescue and vote Republican this fall. Did anyone think that they would vote Democratic? Continue Reading »
Know Your Weaknesses
September 21, 2006
Self righteous is way too rampant here in religious America”. While we expect of Jesus that He excel as part of the Godhead (His divinity), what we have to be amazed by is His HUMANITY! In Him there was no sin! However, there was human weakness and emotion. He got tired, hungry, weary, etc. So, why is it that we have such a hard time admitting to our WEAKNESSES?

Bottom Fishing
September 21, 2006
The action of the last 10-15 days has looked a lot to me like people dropping their financial poles in the water and looking for the bottom. Where does one jump in and start buying BIG TIME? As I’ve been saying, we’re very close to that; however, two weeks agao the U.S. government jumped in and artificially knocked the gold market down so as to strengthen the dollar. A lot of games will be played between now and the election of course. Continue Reading »
Good Cop Bad Cop!
September 21, 2006
What a circus this week is turning out to have been! Only in America can a visiting dignatary come in and call its president the devil and say that the nation he serves is about to come down! Do you think you could do that in Iran, Syria, Cuba, or Venezuela? You would be arrested, run out of the nation, of shot! Seeing Danny Glover hug and introduce Hugo Chavez to a Baptist church in Harlem is truly insightful as to how America works! Continue Reading »
