Who Is Karl Rove?

September 20, 2006

If there is anything that the Democrats are afraid of it is Karl Rove! I don’t know if he is pulling their chain or if he knows what he is talking about; however, he sure has the Democrats concerned. Karl is not only saying that the Republicans will hold both House and Senate, he is also promising an October Surprise. That in and of itself is a big worry for any party that’s out of office and trying to get in. So, what’s up with Karl? Continue Reading »

Payoff & Blackmail

September 20, 2006

So much for the Security Council pressing Iran for sanctions. In the last three weeks both Germany and France have decided to change their stance. They have now adopted the typical United Nations modus operandi. Let’s talk the thing to death. Let’s talk while Rwanda kills 1,000,000 of it’s citizens. Let’s talk while tens of thousands are slaughtered in Darfur. Let’s do nothing with the Resolutions we pass because we have no guts, no army, no resolve. We’re just politicians enjoying the fat ride! Irrational Behavior?

September 20, 2006

They came, they spoke, and nothing happened, nor will it. Ted Turner loves the United nations, but then he loved Jane Fonda too. George Bush appealed directly to the people of Iran, Lebanon, and other areas of Islamic control. He offered them Democracy. They want food and medicine. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad offered to save and lead a new world. All three- Ted, George, and Mahmoud don’t have a clue. Continue Reading »

Pier 61 Immigration New York

September 19, 2006

The Statue of Liberty is more than a national monument that has greeted tens of millions of immigrants. She is probably the most famous symbol of freedom for people who have come from lands far, far away. Additionally, there is the Ellis Island National Monument where the history of immigration has been and is still explored. Continue Reading »

Immigrant Right

September 19, 2006

What rights do immigrants have here in America? Asking that question is like opening Pandora’s box. What immigrant status? Legally or illegal? California or New York? Will Congress ever pass an immigration bill, or not? Will there be a wall, or not? The questions are endless! But there are some things we know. Continue Reading »

UN News!

September 19, 2006

For the next three days, all of the news is really going to be centered around the United nations as they kick off their General Assembly with a speech from George W. Bush this morning. This afternoon it will be Mahmoud Ahmadinejads’ turn to speak. The expected meeting of the two leaders won’t happen. There won’t be a confrontation on the General Assembly lunch menu today because the Iranian president has decided to skip it since they will be serving hard liquor. It’s okay to destroy a nation (Israel), but one can’t drink liquor.

Pope Benedict XVI

September 17, 2006

What a fine mess this new Pope has made! I bet George Bush is glad that someone else is taking the heat from the radical segment of the Muslims. He has said he was sorry! He has said that the remarks that he made were not his. He was quoting another. Ahh but that’s not good enough! We need a little begging, pleading, an elongated apology, and maybe some sort of compensation. Continue Reading »

Political Power!

September 15, 2006

Almost every poll has the President’s favorable ratings on the rise. Surprise, surprise! Gaps are being closed on dozens of contests where the Republican candidate was trailing badly. Santorum in Pennsylvania would be a prime example. This does not say the Republicans will not lose control of the House or Senate; however, what it does do is confirm what I’ve been saying for months. The Bully Pulpit (office of the president) can weild a lot of power! Let’s look at some specifics. Continue Reading »

Politics Of Fear

September 14, 2006

Media and politics are two fuses that stay lit and go often quite frequently. While the media is supposed to be neutral, we know that’s not the case. Media wants its share of the power grid! Power and politics go hand in hand, with media not too far behind. Soon, you’ll be seeing very little on TV commercials but political ads. Buying media has moved into high gear. Continue Reading »

Ahmadinejad News

September 14, 2006

It seems as though Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez are in a contest to see who can get a sound-byte a day. First, Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the face of the planet, then he doesn’t believe the holocaust happened, then he wants to debate Bush at the U.N., and now he sure that he and Iran can better rule the world. He’s now on his way to Cuba and then here in America soon. I can’t wait! Continue Reading »

Primary Election 2006

September 12, 2006

It’s a BIG DAY today in the election hood! And one of the more interesting races has an incumbent Republican, Sen. Lincoln Chafee fighting for a second term. The “look-alike” Republican (he bucked the administration on tax cuts, civil liberties and the Iraq war) is finding it tough sledding against a more conservative Republican opponent Steve Laffey, a former investment banker and mayor of Cranston, R.I.  The most recent polls have both in a dead heat.
