A Week From Today!
October 31, 2006
Will it be a Democratic tsunami sweeping the House and Senate into the hadns of Democrats? Or will it be no treat, just a cruel trick? Today is Halloween! And anything can and probably will happen over this next seven days. We’ve heard conspiracy theories of Chavez manipulating the voting machines that Venezuela owns to the Republicans stealing the absentee ballots. Continue Reading »
7 Days To Go
October 31, 2006
It’s Halloween! Is the trick on the Democrats? As we end the month of October, one can’t help but remember the beginning of October. Mark Foley was the big news and everyone was predicting a sweep for teh Democrats in the House (25-40 seat win) and a win in the Senate! Ahh, but that was 30 days ago wasn’t it. Continue Reading »

It’s time for me to make my next to last prediction for November 7th. Two things that have gone unmentioned might prove to be the difference in the House, are a seat in Florida and Texas. Does anyone remember Tom DeLay? District #22 in Texas was a gimmee, or so the Democrats thought. However, a recent Houston Chronicle-News 11 poll has it a toss up with 1% difference in Nick Lampson (D) and write in replacement candidate Shelley Sekula-Gibbs (R). Continue Reading »
President Nancy Pelosi?
October 30, 2006
Very few people know who would be president of the united States should he and the Vice President be killed. The Presidential Succession Act of 1947 give us the answer- the Speaker Of The House! The Presidential Succession Act was amended to address who in the Cabinet would follow, but as it stands today, should the House become Democratic next week, then Nancy Pelosi would be 2nd in line to be President. Tomorrow, Monday late, I will be posting my second of three “guesstimates” on how the election will turn out. And then the final guess will come Monday night, November 6th. Hey, you need a little levity every now and then. My week ago prediction (you can go back to “17 Days Left) had the Republicans losing 3 Senate seats and 21 House seats. Continue Reading »
A Definite Trading Range
October 28, 2006
Let’s say the bottom is IN. But, the question we can’t say is when we start the move UP again. I’ve been saying “after the elections“. And that’s still the case; however, how loooong after the elections? Ahh, that I don’t know. Continue Reading »

Come Monday, I wil give my next to last predictions for November 7th. It’s always fun putting in print your foolishness so everyone knows just how wacky and off one is. But, if you’re not living on the edge, you’re cure taking up too much room. So, what’s happened in the last twenty four hours? Anything? Continue Reading »
All Is Fair In Love, War, & Politics!
October 27, 2006
With eleven days to go (click here for daily specific races) anything and everything can and probably will happen. You would be advised to keep your kids away from television for the enxt week and a half. Some of the discussions and commercials are really “R” rated stuff, scary, and not good for child consumption. Let’s do a review as we head into the weekend. Continue Reading »

With Tom Kean Jr. surprisingly giving Bob Menendez all he could ever want in New Jersey, and with a rare opportunity to snatch a Senate seat from the Democrats (a miracle?), instead of Democrats taking from Republicans, the RNC is spending some money! Continue Reading »

While all the attention has been on Republicans holding their Senate seats, there is now some worry about Maryland and a lot more concern for New Jersey. Republicans are still pouring as much money and resources as they can into Virginia, Tennessee, and Missouri. It seems to be coming down to these three states; however, if the Republicans could steal New Jersey or draw an inside straight and win Maryland, control of the Senate goes bye-bye for the Democrats. Smash-Mouth Politics
October 25, 2006
Now that were inside the two week time frame before the election, anything and everything goes.- particularly if you are behind! The only guy that seems to be okay with his losing seems to be Kinky Friedman. He has now fallen to 4th place in the race for Texas Governor. The latest poll has him at just 12%.
As I drove to the early voting facility in Jersey Village yesterday Radio 740 was interviewing him and he made the most sense of any candidate I’ve listened to in years. Therein is the problem. We’ve become dumbed down automatons who think only left or right. Maybe Bloomberg can make 2008 a different year. He has the money to do it! Ahh, but there’s this ’06 election before we start thinking ’08. Continue Reading »

Slowly, ever so slowly the numbers for the Republicans are looking better. The three major states where Republicans must win Senate seats, in order to hold the Senate for the next two years, are Tennessee, Virginia, and Missouri. Harold Ford is losing ground in Tennessee and the the other two states are unchanged over a week ago. Continue Reading »
A Monday Follow Up
October 24, 2006
Yesterday I asked the question about the eonomyand politics. Bush is now moving his message from Iraq to the economy. Four stories come out of Monday, from the economic sector thata e just too good to be true. And you know what they say when that happens don’t you? While Iraq may not turn around soon enough to help Bush, neither can the economy fall apart fast enough to help the Democrats. Here’s what the public is seeing in four economic areas that have to help the Repblicans two week from today. Continue Reading »

Who do you want to believe? Let’s look at the Michigan race for the Senate. The polling group with the best results for 2004, which does not guarantee the same in 2006, is Rasmussen. Coming in not too far behind was Zogby. Both have recently taken polls and you’d think they were doing so in different states. Continue Reading »
