8 House Races Still Uncertain

November 11, 2006

Who knows how long it will be before the exact make-up of the House is known? Rep. Deborah Pryce, a member of the House Republican leadership, is ahead in her central Ohio race by 3,536 votes. In the Columbus, Ohio-area, elections officials are delaying the count of more than 9,000 provisional ballots by one day so it doesn’t disrupt the much-vaulted Ohio State-Michigan football game on Nov. 18. Don’t Make The Bush Case!

November 11, 2006

Europe was more than happy to hear of the Republican defeat in Congress. Iraqi leaders were uneasy with what it meant: do they arm and revolt or do they stay the course? And then there were our real enemies among which Iran would be listed. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday called U.S. President George W. Bush’s defeat in congressional elections a victory for Iran. Continue Reading »

What A Mess We Have Now

November 9, 2006

The Republicans buried their dead today, the Senatorial aspirations in Virginia and Montana. The Democrats have the House, they have the Senate, they have a mandate from the people. Now what? Now what is exactly the question. The stock market started asking that exact question today and from what I’ve seen in history, this is not going to be good for the Dow or the markets. The reverberrations hit Iraq as well. If the Americans are leaving, let’s cut up the nation and get our share. Sunnis are regrouping, Kurds are defending, and the Shiities are ready to consolidate. God only knows what lies ahead. Continue Reading »

Political Realities

November 8, 2006

At least Bush was man enough to come out twelve hours later and say he took a whippin!. He had half expcted it, or else he had planned on dumping Rummy a couple of days before the election regardless. With the Baker report coming next week, I suspext it was the latter. Bush knew that his “stay the course” in Iraq was no longer working for him. Rove did all he clould, but in the end, the people were ready for a change and since Bush was being stiff-necked about the war, the people were left with no alternative. Continue Reading »

Time To Chill

November 8, 2006

The people have spoken and they said no to corruption and a Congress that has done little in the last two years. After reigning for twelve years, the Congress (at least the House) goes back to the Democrats. It may take days or weeks to find out how the Senate goes due to recounts in Virginia and probably Montana. Bush is reaching out and meeting with all the new leaders Thursday and Friday. Continue Reading »

The Morning After

November 8, 2006

Democrats are back in charge of the House and attorneys are in charge of the Senate. Virginia and Montana hold the key as to just how bad things will be for Bush over the next two years. There will definitely be a recount in Virginia and Montana is still unknown. The Republicans need at least one to stay in control Continue Reading »

Freedom To Do What?

November 7, 2006

It’s election day across America and it’s risk your life day in Afghanistan and Iraq. In America we are begging people to get out and vote. Maybe one-third will. In Iraq the service men and women volunteered and 100% are actively involved. Isn’t it odd, an oxymoron, that we have some of our young men and women will die today in far away lands so that we can sit at home and watch TV! Continue Reading »

Election Day -Go Vote!

November 6, 2006

It’s finally arrived! Just think. After today, you don’t have to hear all of those commericals. You just have to put up with the posturing and crowing, depending upon who won, and who didn’t. Hopefully we won’t have to wait weeks before we know who won. With so many close races, with new voting machines, and all the acriomony with attorney’s poised to pounce, we may have challenges ad infinitum. And if my projection for the House holds that would mean Nancy Pelosi would have to wait to see if she’s the MAN in the House. Continue Reading »

1 Day To Go!!!

November 5, 2006

We’re almost there! You will soon see commericals on what you should buy again and not who you should vote for or against. I ahve to admit I did like two political commercials. It would be a tie between the Don’tVote.com ad and the Rick Santorum (standing in the wrestling ring) commercial. With one day to go, I’m going to basically review all polls and make a guess Monday evening. Continue Reading »

We Finally Have A Verdict

November 5, 2006

Do you really think Bush pushed to get this decision done 48 hours before the election? Surely not! :-)
Will it make any difference in the outcome of the election? I don’t see it. I think the only thing that could save the House from going Democratic is for our forces to find Osama bin Laden Monday. Let’s face it. Did anyone think that Saddam was going to be set free? This is a non-starter. It’s an event for the victimized Shiites in Iraq but it’s not news here in America. If anything the question would be, why did it take so long? Continue Reading »

2 Days To Go

November 5, 2006

Which pollsters will get it right? Will Rasmussen come out on top again? Will Karl Rove continue his magic or will he finally be wrong and face defeat. Remember, he’s been saying that the Republicans will hold both houses, though he admits it will be close and that they Republicans will lose seats in both Houses. Will we even know who controls the Congress or will the races be too close to call and legal challenges that will keep things convoluted for weeks, if not months? Continue Reading »

Is This The Break Out?

November 4, 2006

Is the correction over? Has the trading range ended? Who knows for sure? What we do know though is that gold has been “looking like”, it’s sensing something and it’s ready to take wings and fly. We’ve had NINE days in a row of green! NINE! Continue Reading »

3 Days To Go!

November 4, 2006

What can happen, if anything, to change the way things are looking? Will the Republicans get pushed out of leadership in both the House and Senate? Will Bush spend the last two years of his presidency fighting investigations, if not impeachment? Will we waste the next two years in partisan arguments- all pointing towards 2008 national elections. Is this what life in America will be like? Continue Reading »

Here Comes The Weekend!

November 3, 2006

While most of us will be enjoying this incredible sample of the weather to come (this is why I live in Houston), across the United States, politicians will be seeking just how many hours of sleep they can get by on. Few people understand how emotionally and physically exhausting a political campaign is. And, the weekends don’t get any bigger. This is the last one What can be done by either party, any candidate to change the results over the weekend? Continue Reading »
