Asian Flu!
February 28, 2007
If you ever wondered which nation is becoming the dominant one, look East my friend. China IS the power not only of tomorrow but of today. The saying used to be that when America sneezed (economically), the rest of the world caught a cold. Yesterday, it was the rest of the world following China: down. But one thing no nation has been able to do is match their growth. Last year, the Chinese stock market grew faster than 100%. This morning our 4Q GDP came in at only 2.2%. Continue Reading »
A Bad Morning, And……?
February 27, 2007
The Dow took only about forty five minutes today to drop over 100 points and shortly after that the Dow was down 155 points. Is this the beginning of my February 15th post, whcih is entitled How ‘Wow” Now Dow? God only knows where the Dow will end for the day (as I write at 10:46 am) but here are some things we DO KNOW! Political Tectonic Plates
February 26, 2007
The Acadmey Awards have come and gone. And Al Gore has his Oscar. And the question now becoems did that stroke his ego enough to reconsider the presidential limelight and make a run at his not too favorite politician: that would be Hillary Clinton. That’s just one of the many political tectonic plates that are applying pressure to one another. The others ones are as follows. Continue Reading »
Global Warming Or Galactic Goings On?
February 24, 2007
It’s Academy Awards time and some savvy politicing. “An Inconvenient Truth,” the documentary about the former vice president’s crusade against global warming, is the odds-on favorite to win an Oscar. Gore plans to attend the ceremony as well as the glitzy before and after parties. Ahh how Hollywood loves politics. Just look how Hollywood has made a star out of Obama. But, back to this global warming stuff. Continue Reading »
A Seven Week Run!
February 23, 2007
The first week of the year was the only week so far out of eight that gold did not make gains. It’s now been a seven week bull run wherein gold has gone up $77 in seven weeks. Looking at two other notable statistics, gold is up $36 in the last month and $135 over the last twelve months for a 25% annual return. Continue Reading »

What Goes Around…………
February 22, 2007
A few years ago the Democrtas were giddy about have a Republican Senator switch to the Democratic party. But, don’t look now it could be happening again. But this time the shoe is on the other party’s foot. Joe has surely slowed the Democratic Senatorial train to derail Bush’s war effort down a bit. Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut said today while he has no immediate plans to become a Republican, he might change his mind if Democrats oppose funding the war in Iraq. Continue Reading »
Denmark & Allies?
February 21, 2007
I doubt that there are many who didn’t know that we have a very, very LIBERAL press, who HATE George Bush, and want us OUT of Iraq, but not for the reasons they espouse, but so that we can have more money for entitlement programs. Today we discovered something that the same press never told or or pretended didn’t exist! <-more-->
England is pulling OUT of Iraq. There’s the proof that America should be doing the same. Or, is it proof that in the South of Iraq, the coalition forces have been successful?
The press is screaming about how 1,500 troops are coming back from the British forces (not today) down the road and that’ll put more pressure on our troops.
Really?
But on the other hand we just put 21,500 more troops in wich the press felt weren’t needed. Which is it? We need the 1,500 from Britain, or we don’t need the U.S. 21,500 additional troops.
And up til now, the press has never admitted to the term “coalition“. And no press, networks news, or mainline news sources has ever, ever mentioned that Denmark had troops in Iraq: was a member of the coalition. But, now that Denmark is pulling their troops out, it’s get major coverage- of 460 soldiers!
Prejudice in the press is just too obvious- and sad!
Helping The Poor In Venezuela?
February 20, 2007
Now that Hugo Chavez can “rule by decree” (can you say dictatorship?) his bank accounts in Switzerland should see more activity. The poor people will see no change in their lives except a little more free booze, as has been the case. An extra medical clinic here and there is good for looks. However, now that Hugo has ALL POWER, the people can expect even less. Continue Reading »
The Show Is Over!
February 17, 2007
Both houses of the Congress have had their fifteen minutes of fame. Every member of the Hosue got to speak for five minutes- if they wanted something on the record that they could tout come election year 2008. Pelosi has paid back her supporters by bringing the non-binding resolution to a vote. Now, let’s get down to reality. The “show” is over. Let’s get on with some constructive business. Whatcha say? How “Wow” Now Dow!
February 15, 2007
Will you look at THAT!
The Dow seems headed for 13,000 as it closed Thursday at 12,765. Euphoria, excitement, and maybe something else. Maybe? It seems that everyone that I’ve historically listened to and taken their advice have been warning that the “something else” could be a rapid and deep correction! Correction? A hundred points doesn’t qualify as a correction. A correction at these levels would be more like a drop of 2,000 points! Continue Reading »
