If it weren’t for the size of the economic engine of Americas industrial train, and the amount of securities that foreign nations hold, the US$ would tank and with it would go the power to wage war and be the 800 pound gorilla on the planet. I have been amazed at the people that Iraq, the Coalition Forces, and our U.S. military capture and then let go. It’s much like what we do with immigrants crossing the borders here in America, both South and North.
