Spam Is More Than Meat!

May 31, 2007

Remember when Spam was something you ate? Language changes over time and now we’ve learned in this digital world that spam is more of a nuisance than anything else. It can come in analog fashion on your fax machine as well; however, I’m talking about the kind of spam that the likes of Robert Soloway create. Continue Reading »

Another Eastern Tsunami Redux?

May 30, 2007

There are those that seem to think that the stock market cannot possibly go down. Yes, the Dow does take a hit every now and then, but fear not, it’ll go back up the next six days. Wednesday may be one of those days that mentality gets a little adjustment. Here’s what looks to be headed our way today. Continue Reading »

The Chavez Juggernaut!

May 29, 2007

Many people are beginning to wake up to the dictatorial plans that Chavez is undertaking, but they are being awakened way too late. Yesterday, Venezuela’s oldest private television station went off the air following President Hugo Chavez’s decision to pull the plug on the popular channel harshly critical of the government, a move that sparked violent clashes between protesters and police. But, why not? Continue Reading »

Be Physically Fit

May 28, 2007

Too often we get too specialized in this world that is filled with more knowledge than anyone can comprehend. Doctors who practice general medicine have given way to nose, throat, ear, and you name it specialists, that have a hard time recognizing a part of the human anatomy that they don’t treat. In like fashion, we have many people who are so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good. People who only see and relate to the spirit side of man: hyper spiritual! Them we get those who get off in to the flesh (soul) and emphasize feelings and error on the side of emotionalism. Seldom do we find those who error on the third part of the triune man: the body! MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAYS

May 25, 2007

A day of REMEMBERING!
But, what is it that we’re remembering. Or has it been so long, or so ritualistic that what we’ve done with Memorial Day (Decoration Day) is what we’ve done with so many holidays (Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.). We vacation, recreate, over eat, and generally lavish self with pleasures beyond measure. Remember what? Continue Reading »

The Fine Line Of Freedom & Treason

May 24, 2007

One of the greatest and most powerful institutions in America today is the press. They win almost all of the law suits filed against them. If they lose a court battle, they win on appeal. They can say almost anything. And they feel that their “right to know” is above even God’s right to tell. So, when does tipping our hand to the enemy come close to treason? Or can the press advise our enemies of our plans and there is nothing that can be done about it? Let me illustrate. Continue Reading »

Have Sex & Do Drugs?

May 23, 2007

I could understand it if Planned Parenthood was doing the instructing. They love to get into the high schools and even elementary schools, to tell people about “safe sex” (which is not). If things don’t work out, get an abortion, and guess who profits from that! There are all kinds of crazy things that are allowed in our public schools these days, but this recent event got my attention as beyond the pale of acceptability: even in these times. Monitor Progress Daily

“I will go anywhere provided it is forward.” David Livingstone

We often get the question, “How are you DOING?” It’s an interesting question that is just superficial at best because we really don’t want to add all of the qualifiers that we need to in order to get a realistic answer. Say what? Okay, “How do I feel?” We “feel” in relation or comparison to many things. You see everything is “in relation” to something else. Continue Reading »

Immigration Backlash

May 22, 2007

So much for the highly touted immigration bill that Ted Kennedy put together with the blessings of George Bush! Senate leaders agreed Monday that they would wait until June to take final action on a bipartisan plan to give millions of unlawful immigrants legal status.
The measure, which also tightens border security and workplace enforcement measures, unites a group of influential liberals, centrists and conservatives and has White House backing, but it has drawn criticism from across the political spectrum. In a nod to that opposition, Senate leaders won’t seek to complete it before a hoped-for Memorial Day deadline. Continue Reading »

A 3-4 Month Window

May 21, 2007

George Bush just keeps making blunder after blunder as I see it. A good man with what appears to be bad political instincts. Regardless of who is advising him, he’s the one that makes the final decisions. As Harry Truman said, “The buck stops at the president’s desk.” I don’t get what it is about the immigration situation that he keeps hammering away at what is truly AMNESTY and yet he continues to call his version GUEST WORKER. Why did he feel that he needed to come out in support of a Senate bill not yet debated? He has no political capital. Few are listening to what he has to say these days. But, here’s the bigger issue by far. Continue Reading »

Call A Spade A Spade

May 18, 2007

And while you are at it call the latest agreement in the Senate AMNESTY! Bush couldn’t wait to get before the cameras and hail the new immigration breakthrough. Thankfully not everyone sees it that way and if my “nose for politics” still works, this crazy bill will die in the House. I’ve not read the whole proposal- who has? However, I’ve read enough so far to tell me it’s nothing but amnesty dressed up in a lot of other cute phrases that seem to make it not look like amnesty. Continue Reading »

An Early Assessment

May 16, 2007

The ten who want to run for the presidency of the United States (why I ask?) debated in South Carolina last night and what was the result? It’s obvious that the type of text messaging voting that was done was not scientific. And for me it was obvious that someone or organization was trying to manipulate the results much like we’ve heard has been happening on American Idol. Why do I say that? Here’s why.
