The Obama Train Rolls On!
January 31, 2008
There’s a big debate in tinsle-town tonight and the TWO BIG GUNS get to square off at each other and I am sure they will. Hillary needs to regain some MO as in momentum. The uncontested win in Florida where no delegate seats were up for grabs didn’t get Hillary anything but a few minutes of TV exposure. The South Carolina landslide is still sliding for Barack Obama- even past the Ted Kennedy kudos! Continue Reading »
Taliban Resurgence?
January 31, 2008
Democrats have talked endlessly about how we’d lost Iraq and needed to spend more time looking for Osama (not Obama) in Afghanistan. Things have a funny way of working out. Iraq now seems to be working out much better, but Afghanistan may need a lot more help. As the movie “Charlie Wilson’s War” depicts, The Russian empire fell as a result of Afghanistan. And? Republican Race To Super Tuesday
January 30, 2008
On just the Republican side of the ledger, there remains three horses in the race (assuming Rudy gets out today and throws his support to John) as we head to Super Tuesday. John McCain has emerged as the man to beat for the Republican nomination.
Only Mitt Romney stands in his way. And of course Mike Huckabee will compete as much as one can without money! Continue Reading »
Goodbye Rudy And………?
January 30, 2008
The rumor mills were working overtime Tuesday evening after the expected results for the Florida primary were settled. Rudy Guiliani had built his firewall (the only one) in Florida and last night that went up in smoke. So, Rudy is expected to announce today from California that he is dropping out of the race and endorsing John McCain. Will there be another announcement at noon from New Orleans? Continue Reading »
It Is The Florida Primary After All!
January 29, 2008
They say they are having voting problems today in Florida! Really? What a shocker. Hey, it’s Florida, what do you expect? Some clouds just hang around the same place for eternity so it seems. The Florida primary couldn’t happen without problems, but at least we’re not dealing with hanging chads- are are we? Continue Reading »
A Liberal Landslide!
January 29, 2008
Open big mouth wide Bubba and insert shoe! If there is anything that is becoming obvious it is that the tepid love affair that true liberals had with Team Clinton is now history. You have to wonder what Hillary is saying to Bubba at night before they go to bed? But with the need to be in 22 states over the next two weeks, maybe they aren’t sleeping together. I won’;t go any further with that line of discussion. But, the Ted and Carolina Kennedy pronouncement put an exclamation mark on my point yesterday. A big one! Continue Reading »
Bloomberg & Paul?
January 29, 2008
Anything could happen in this political cycle called Presidential election 2008. Who would have guessed that Rudy would be out after campaigning in one state? Since the Florida primary is yet to happen, I’m predicting here. Who would have thought Barack Obama would be making the waves that he is? Surely not Hill nor Bill. But, what about a third party candidate that could make a difference? Continue Reading »
Barack Obama Landslide
January 29, 2008
Why have several of the major political players, like Ted Kennedy, decided to jump on the Obama band wagon? The most obivous reason is the more than DOUBLE the votes that Obama received over Hillary in the South Carolina primary. That’s an amazing number for any primary, anywhere. However, there’s much to the picture than Bill Clinton playing the race card and being an out-right liar. If his presidency told us anything, it told us that! That’s one of the reasons he lost his law license in Arkansas. Continue Reading »
Golden Security!
January 28, 2008
World stock markets from Japan, China, India, and Europe have had drops as big or bigger than the September 11, 2001 drop. The Dow stumbled out of the gate and is still staggering with triple digit losses almost every other day or so. Talk of $1,000 gold and a recession is growing as the Dow has lost more than 1,100 points so far this month and the Nasdaq more than 300 points. Is there anything that’s safe? Continue Reading »
The Real First Black President?
January 28, 2008
Did South Carolina change anything? Is there any logic or sanity to all these primaries? While I have to admit that the whole process seems antiquated and a waste of time, it seems as though something has changed since Obama’s overwhelming victory in the South Carolina primary. Here’s just a couple of the tremors coming from last Saturday. Continue Reading »
Obama Is Like Jack Kennedy?
January 27, 2008
Winning the South Carolina primary by a 2-1 margin was fantastic; however, getting the backing of Caroline Kennedy with the accolades that came with it, we totally not expected. This one has to really smart and maybe it’s a clue to the powerful super delegates to the Democratic convention that many who have sided with Hillary, may need to reflect a moment and rethink their votes. Continue Reading »
Obama Trounces Mama (and Papa too)
January 27, 2008
Barack Obama didn’t just beat Mama (Hillary) by double digits in the South Carolina primary, he wiped her and finger-pointing Papa (Bubba) out with and amazing 2-1 advantage. Two to One! 295,000 votes to 141,000 (55% to 27%); better than 2-1! Hillary hops on a place late afternoon for Tennessee and Bubba says so what! Jesse Jackson won twice before but never became president. Continue Reading »
