Bono & Gore on Global Warming
January 26, 2008
Davos is where Bubba wishes he was; however, getting those free rides on Air Force One and sleeping in the White House, even if in a different room, is more important these days. So, Bubba is up to his nose in controversy in the South Carolina primary, leaving Davos to Bono and Gore. And Soros, Gates, etc. They want to know what’s up with all this weird weather. Is it normal, cyclical, or signs of an impending doom? Continue Reading »
Political Hit Job?
January 25, 2008
Bill Clinton is raising eyebrows and tempers all over the place. Is this a deliberate strategy to be a lightning rod, taking the heat away from soul mate Hillary? Or, is he just frustrated by a closer primary process than he’s like? Or, is this the REAL BILL? I’m sure he’d rather be in Davos with the international movers and shakers, but here he is in South Carolina primary shaking hands, going door-to-door instead. Continue Reading »
Super Tuesday?
January 25, 2008
The Democrats duke it out in South Carolina primary tomorrow and then the Florida primary comes three days later when both parties will surely only have three candiates alive (though a couple barely breathing) for the Super Tuesday sweepstakes. The new primary format had been set so that both parties could choose a candidate by February 5th. We’re now ten days out and it looks like neither party will have given enough votes to a candidate to wrap it up. Continue Reading »
Super Delegates?
January 24, 2008
Democrats call themselves the Democratic party; however, their concept of Super Delegates are anything but democratic! The party’s nominating process is at odds with grass-roots democracy. Voters don’t choose the 842 unpledged “super-delegates” who comprise nearly 40 percent of the number of delegates needed to clinch the Democratic nomination. And who are these delegates going to vote for? Hillary or the Barack-star? Continue Reading »
Rush Limbaugh
January 24, 2008
The king of radio talk show has spoken- again. And he is shocking his listeners in a way that none would have thought possible. What’s the big news? Rush has said that he may NOT support the Republican nominee for president. Hey, that’s not news to me. I wouldn’t either if the TWO he mentioned are the parties nominee. One isn’t really a Republican and the other one represents the ugly side of religion that is DIVISIVE when Jesus called us into UNITY! Continue Reading »
Black South Carolina Primary?
January 23, 2008
If anything good comes out of this year’s presidential election process, I believe we’re going to get to a deeper level of uniting the black and white electorate- with the Hispanic, Asian, and other culture electorate. It’s really an American electorate that will decide who our next president is to be. And maybe, just maybe we’re getting that understanding even if the press is not. Continue Reading »
Fred Thompson Is Out
January 23, 2008
Was Fred ever in? Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson quit the Republican presidential race on Tuesday, after a string of poor finishes in early primary and caucus states. “Today, I have withdrawn my candidacy for president of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort,” Thompson said in a statement. What was his short run all about? Continue Reading »
Market Meltdown!
January 22, 2008
How low will the Dow go this Tuesday? Having escaped Black Monday, thanks to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, investors could only sit and wait, and worry. Do they place SELL orders before the opening today, or do they wait and pray that the bottom doesn’t fall out? For two days straight now, international markets have tanked anywhere from 5-10% over two days. Continue Reading »
Martin Luther King Baton
January 22, 2008
I am sure that neither Bill Clinton not Hillary ever thought four years ago that they would be fighting for the Black vote in America. They had that all locked up with just WORDS. George W. Bush brought more black judges and high level government people into his administration than Bill Clinton. But here Bill was sitting on his butt while everyone else was giving Shirley Franklin a standing ovation! Continue Reading »
Political Trifecta?
January 22, 2008
Aren’t you a bit tired of the two-party rants. What must we have eight years of Democratic demagoguery and then eight years of Republican imperialism followed by eight years of the Clinton dynasty, which is followed by eight years of a Bush dynasty! How about a new alliance? A political trifecta? Continue Reading »
Black Monday!
January 21, 2008
Thank God today is a holiday in America. Thanks to the Martin Luther King national holiday, our markets are closed. No market crash today! So, the question is have we moved from a Black Monday to a Dark Tuesday instead? There simply is no sensible or rational way that we can avoid a BAD TUESDAY short of the government and Fed fixing the market, cooking the books, and all that stuff that doesn’t really happen in an open market. Right? Continue Reading »
The Romney Run
January 21, 2008
While pundits and analysts keep touting first Huckabee, then McCain, Mitt Romney has slowing and quietly moved from a slow gait to a full-fledged run. He was written off after Iowa. He was further pushed back after New Hampshire. And yet here he is leading the pack in Florida in the latest Rasmussen poll. How’d that happen? The Las Vegas odds are changing! Continue Reading »
Is It Outsider Time?
January 21, 2008
For a year now I have been tracking the “non-candidacy” of Michael Bloomberg for President. On July 12 of last year I started a web site devoted just to his candidacy (or non candidacy). You can go back and track with me or just start now. The bottom line is that Michael was in Texas this past weekend drumming up “non-support”. But here’s the latest rhetoric on Mr. Bloomberg., the ultimate outsider! Continue Reading »
Is Dow 6,000 Possible?
January 20, 2008
I guess the answer to that question would be “In what year?” Certianly not in 2008 if you ask stock market hyper guru Abby Joseph Cohen, the superbull at Goldman Sachs, who maintains that the Dow will finish 2008 at a level 22 percent higher or 14,755. You do know that she makes money by people buying stock don’t you? Continue Reading »
