A Texas Trail Run?

January 20, 2008

If Michael Bloomberg is going to make a third party run in ’08, his immediate attention will have to be upon the State of Texas. You know, the home of third party candidate (1992 and 1996), Ross Perot. But, unless you are from Texas, or happen to like cigars or people who smoke them, you’ve probably not heard about Kinky! Kinky made a third party run for governor last year and his experience will be sought. Continue Reading »

Two Symbols Of Hope

January 19, 2008

Without taking a position or advocating a candidacy for president in November, let me offer up an assessment of what I think is becoming a political ground swell. Beyond just the message or hope or the book that’s entitled, “The Audacity Of Hope“, I believe there’s an unconscious attraction to Barack Obama for two priamry reasons. Continue Reading »

Third Party Ballot

January 19, 2008

How does one get on a ballot? How does one go about registering as a third party? How easy is it to get registered on a state to run for president? What’s the cost to get registered and what’s the last date that one might sign up for the November 2008 election? These are some of the questions that Michael Bloomberg is asking the Ross Perot people. Continue Reading »

South Carolina Primaries (2)

January 19, 2008

Ross Perot? What’s Ross Perot got to do with the Republican primary in South Carolina. He has injected himself in the mix because of his disdain for John McCain. Who would have ever thought that Mike Huckabee’s best friend just might be Ross Perot. If Huckabee wins, you can probably credit the last minute Perot attack for the victory. Continue Reading »

Leahy For Obama!

January 18, 2008

Hillary’s automatic run to the Democratic nomination keeps hitting these speed bumps. This week, a judge in Nevada allowed the culinary union to caucus in the casinos. The Nevada caucus Saturday now gives a slight lead to Barack Obama. And that’s not all. Continue Reading »

2008 Market Crash?

January 18, 2008

The worst start for the stock market since 1932! And it’s not getting any better. There is plenty of blame to go around; however, many fingers are pointing to the failed American policies of spend, spend, spend and then add more debt and more debt. America has been living as though there can never be any bad financial times. When the party seems to be dwindling add more booze (can you say print more money) to the mix. It’s only a short-term fix. Now the pounding headache comes! Continue Reading »

United States Bankruptcy?

January 17, 2008

Ben Bernanke goes to Capitol Hill today to try and explain to our Congress what can be done to keep Americans in a lavish lifestyle- at least those who are in power. Stagflation is enering the doors. Merrill Lynch just reported a $10,000,000,000 loss and that’s not acceptable of course- for the wealthy. Those who have no power will always remain poor of course. Can a government go bankrupt? Maybe the better question would be, which ones already are but are in receivership? Continue Reading »

Michigan Primary

January 16, 2008

We’re moving ever closer to Super Tuesday- February 5th. The lastest primary is now in the rear view mirror and what did the Michigan primary tell us? Nothing different than Iowa or New Hampshire primaries. We’ve had three primaries and we now have three different winners: Huckabee, McCain, and now Mitt Romney. Now what? Continue Reading »

Draft Bloomberg!

January 16, 2008

The political glacier named Bloomberg inches ever closer with more and more force, moving everything in its way out of the way. With all the hype around the top three candidates in each of the two major parties few still see what’s happening just below the radar screen. The hype of the primaries may mean nothing. Are we just a month away now from the big announcement? Continue Reading »

Stagflation Scenario

January 15, 2008

Probably the second worst economic scenario is stagflation. Depression would of course be the worst. Stagflation is a condition of slow economic growth, rising unemployment, and rise in prices, or inflation. The 2007 inflation figures that were just released today verify the things the I’ve been saying for the last year. And this is another reason that GOLD is headed to $1,000 an ounce and beyond. Continue Reading »

Black On Black Politics

January 14, 2008

I’m sure that you’ve heard of black-on-black crime, but black-on-black politics is just as rough and tumble and in some ways a lot nastier. If there was ever something that no life-long Democrat would have believed could happen, it’s what we’re seeing now between the Clintonites and Barak-star! Continue Reading »

$1,000 Gold And Recession!

January 14, 2008

Gold surged to a historic high above $910 an ounce, as investors rushed in to buy the metal on further weakness in the dollar and expectations of a sharp cut in U.S. interest rates, analysts said. Ben Bernanke and crew will meet January 30th and expectations are a cut of at least 50 basis points. Will we see $1,000 gold soon? Continue Reading »

Caucus Rucus!

January 13, 2008

Politics is so predictable. It’s basically designed to benefit the powerful and even in a democracy, if things don’t go the way you feel is fair, well then, it’s unfair. Hopefully, we’ll not have another Florida hanging chad scenario. Hopefully, digital voting won’t be corrupted (more than it is), and hopefully, one day we’ll change the undemocratic CAUCUS format. We’re seeing a lawsuit that accents the point I’m making/ Continue Reading »

Weird Weather!

January 12, 2008

Matthew 5:45 tell us that it rains on everyone. It doesn’t matter how righteous you think you are or how bad you seem to be- everyone is going to have some rainy days and some sunny days. There’s no discrimination. But, I’m not sure how Al Gore will interpret what happened in Baghdad yesterday. Continue Reading »
