Trillion Dollar Meltdown
March 31, 2008
This is one big hole that the Fed has dig and then the Fed wants to come in and correct the mess that they’ve made. How cool of a paradigm shift, blame shift, is that anyway? Right after 9-11 the mantra was not let us forgive our enemies, not let us immediately go bomb someone (though we ultimately did), it was the GO SHOPPING cry and the charge was led by the president of the United States. And now we have what looks to be a one trillion dollar meltdown. Continue Reading »
Muslims Trump Catholics
March 31, 2008
The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, or Ratzinger, whichecer name yu’re more comfortable with needs to be aware that his baptizing a Muslim into the Catholic faith didn’t make much of a dent in the Islamic totals as Islam has overtaken Roman Catholicism as the biggest single religious denomination in the world. Monsignor Vittorio Formenti, who compiled the Vatican’s newly-released 2008 yearbook of statistics, said Muslims made up 19.2 percent of the world’s population and Catholics 17.4 percent.

Gallup Poll
March 31, 2008
After the week that Obama had with the Jeremiah Wright disaster and the piling on by FoxNews, El Rushbo, and that great American, Sean Hannity, you’d think that Barack Obama would be toast. Bring on Hillary Clinton and let’s do this thing between Hillary and John McCain. But, the latest Gallup poll shows something quite the contrary. Continue Reading »
Word Of Mouth!
March 30, 2008
Movie moguls spend millions of dollars advertising their coming new movies and most of it is simply wasted. The best advertising is still word of mouth. A movie can have no advertising and a ten million dollar advertising budget, but if it is good, word of mouth advertising, hearing it on the proverbial grape vine, will do wonders. A story of the past is a good reminder of our future between now and 2012. Continue Reading »
Wall Street Woes
March 30, 2008
The Federal Reserve announced Friday it will auction another $100 billion in April to cash-strapped banks as it continues to combat the effects of a credit crisis. The central bank said it would make $50 billion available at each of two auctions, on April 7 and April 21. Wall Street woes continue and gold will keep going higher as a result. Continue Reading »
Winning Ugly?
March 30, 2008
Democrats are becoming increasingly worried about what will be left of the party come the August convention if all the ugly name-calling continues. While Democrats increasingly worry about winning ugly, Barack Obama was losing beautifully at a bowling lane in this central Pennsylvania city. “My economic plan is better than my bowling,” Obama told fellow bowlers Saturday evening at the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center. Muqtada al-Sadr
March 30, 2008
If there is an Iraqi nemesis, and there are many, Muqtada al-Sadr has to be clsoe to the top of the list. He struts his stuff, challenges all authority, and ten when he get penned in a corner he backs down for a few months. The latest repeort has him pulling his men off the streets, but not turning over his guns. Someone needs to pull Muqtada al-Sadr off the street! Continue Reading »
Racial Politics
March 30, 2008
The introduction of an African American into presidential politics has created all manner of problems for Democrats as well as Republicans. Probably more so for the Democrats and particularly Hillary & Bill. Racial politics has uncovered the racial divide, racial prejudices, and racial struggles that America is trying to work through. The Jeremiah Wright controversy awakended the sensitivities and is forcing us to deal with demons that lurk just below the surface in our individual and social psyche. Continue Reading »
Honest Abe?
March 29, 2008
Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United States. Lincoln’s ambivalence toward slavery is well documented. Lincoln said that if he could save the Union without freeing a single slave he would do so. And when one looks into the true history of “honest Abe”, he doesn’t come out too honest. Does any politician? Hillary has certainly advanced the negative cause this week. Continue Reading »
Nancy Pelosi
March 28, 2008
Let the battle of the “queen bees” begin or has it been so doing ever since Hillary hit the Senate floor and Nancy was made top dog on the House floor? Whatever the case, both women are out to assert themselves, and may the best wo-MAN win! Nancy’s power comes from within and Hillary’s from without, but both control powerful political segments of the landscape. Continue Reading »
Super Delegate Pressure!
March 28, 2008
As the weeks go by John McCain keeps looking better and better ad Obama and Hillary batter each other to a pulp. While everyone thinks this is going to go to the Convention, I just don’t see it happening that way. Somewhere, the Democrats must pull out of the nose dive before they hit ground. In order to do so though, someone is going to have to sit Bubba and Hillary down and tell them how the cow chews the cudd or some such metaphor. Continue Reading »
Hillary’s Tale!
March 27, 2008
By now almost everyone knows the Hillary tale about her trip to Bosnia. She fled the plane, running to a car under sniper fire. Then the CBS News tape tells the truth. The first spin was that she meant there was sniper fire in the hills. That quickly changed to the second spin that she mis-spoke. And the lastest is? Hilalry told reporters in Pennsylvania on Tuesday: “So I made a mistake. That happens. It shows I’m human, which for some people is a revelation.” In other wors, get over it! Continue Reading »
Home Foreclosure
March 27, 2008
President Bush keeps reminding us and telling us that we’re in a rough patch but all will be well. Rough patch? Rough patch you say? I’d sure hate to see a bad patch. For example, home foreclosure in California is a HUGE PROBLEM! In fact, real estate values in California dropped in February by 26%! And a home foreclosure rate is nearly equal to the home purchase rate! That’s not a rough patch Bush. Continue Reading »
Old John McCain?
March 26, 2008
Florida is back in the news when it comes to the presidential election process, but from a completely different angle this time. Why not? With the release of Hillary Clinton’s White House papers, many of her claims to fame have flamed out. And it just might be an omen to McCain to not rely so much on his many, many years of experience which could bring up just how old he is and what downsides that might present.
