The Ulysses spacecraft
April 15, 2008
This is the year that one of our most valuable tools for understanding the sun and it’s solar flares will cease to exist. Ulysses is a robotic space probe designed to study the Sun at all latitudes. The Ulyssess spacecraft, was launched in October 1990 from the Space Shuttle Discovery as a joint venture of NASA and the European Space Agency. And it’s unique mission has given us new insights. Rising Inflation
April 15, 2008
The Fed says that it is keeping an eye on inflation. What they don’t say is that their eye balls are slanting upwards. In order to save the whole financial system (if it can be salvaged), the Fed has been printing money as fast as it can and loaning out tens of billions at firesale rates to keep some financial institutions from going bankrupt and bringing down the house of cards. Pennsylvania Primary
April 14, 2008
Remember the Alamo! Remember the Texas primary? How about Louisiana and Wyoming? Those primaries seem so far away, and in light of the two Super Tuesday events of February and March, the Pennsylvania primary was 4-6 weeks out depending upon where you started. But, now we’re just a little over a week away. It’s time to ramp up the rhetoric and get a bit more refined on the polling process. Continue Reading »
Benedict XVI
April 14, 2008
Pope Benedict XVI is coming to America! We have a hot political primary season underway; however, for next week the lead line will be about the visit of Pope Benedict in America. I know you can’t wait, but seriously, if you’re a Catholic this will be a very exciting week. It’s not ever day, not ever year- or decade, that a Pope comes calling in America. Continue Reading »
Inverted Field Reversal?
April 13, 2008
There are a dozen scenarios around the December 21, 2012 Mayan calendar (and other 2012 cultural musings), but one that’s most intriguing and getting the attention of scientists is what’s known as the galactic alignment. Why do hurricanes and tornadoes that strike near or around Topeka, Kansas turn counter-clockwise? Why do toilets flush the water dwon ther drain clockwise in Santiago, Chili? Like who cares? Nobel Peace Prize
April 13, 2008
The rumor has it that the Nobel Peace Prize will finally come into play to end the Democratic bid of Hillary Clinton. Say what? Enough is enough. Both Obama and Hillary have their flaws- and they aren’t little ones either. Of course we all do you know. That’s why we are called HUMANS! Well, that’s part of the reason. We all too well know a lot of the reasons for our zits. Continue Reading »
Troop Withdrawals
April 11, 2008
The liberals are going to be up in arms- more than normal. The surge seemed to work at first and now the violence is returning. Bush knows he can’t “surge again”, so the next best option is to halt the withdrawals. No more troop withdrawals? For whatever good that might do you can expect the opposition in Iraq, with their Iranian friends to step up the pressure and violence. Continue Reading »
Can Do Cantina
April 11, 2008
America is the land or the rich and free, the home to everyone who wants to see their dreams fulfilled. There’s work for everyone. And people are pouring across both the Northern and Southern borders of our nation. Welcome to the Can Do Cantina where the booze is always flowing. Continue Reading »
Retired Gen. Colin Powell
April 10, 2008
Colin Powell, who served as President Bush’s first secretary of state, is a Republican, but that apparently is not enough to sway him toward Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the GOP’s presumptive nominee. Powell has yet to make up his mind as to whom he will back as president. Isn’t he a Republican? But does that mean he has to support McCain regardless? Continue Reading »
The God Particle?
April 10, 2008
So, what’s going on in Cern, Switzerland? are some mad scientists going to create a black hole and destory the earth? That’s what some people think. Others have just the opposite idea. The 40-year hunt for the holy grail of physics – the elusive “God particle” that is supposed to give matter its mass – is almost over, according to the leading scientist who first came up with the theory. Florida & Michigan Primaries
April 9, 2008
What to do, what to do? The Democratic National committee made the rules. Hillary and Obama agreed to them. But now Hillary want’s to change the rules becuase she won in Flordia wherer no one campaigned and she won in Michigan where Obam’s name wasn’t even on the ballot! She wants more than the delegates, she wants the vote totals as well so she can get closer to Obama on that score as well. What’s fair? Continue Reading »
Gen. David Petraeus Advises
April 9, 2008
He’s BACK! And I doubt that the Soros team will be guilty of another ad saying that Patraues Betrays Us. That campaign went over like a lead balloon. But you can rest assured that the Senators running for president will get in as much “shine time” as they can. And they’ll be very careful to speak to the constituency that they think will be voting for them. What’s right just isn;t the issue right now. It’s called politics! Continue Reading »
Spiritual Energy
April 9, 2008
I know that we don’t know. But I long and desire to know what it is that allows some to perform feats of magic (true magic) and real-live healings. Many still believe that the miracles attributed to Jesus was just myth and lore. I believe that Jesus and other spiritualists, savants, and indigo children (to name a few) have somehow tapped into the spiritual energy that makes it all happen. John 14:12 is still an active promise. Continue Reading »
Greater Than Us!
April 8, 2008
When our astronauts get a view of the earth from the Interneational space station, from the moon, or just when orbiting the earth, they all get a sense of how small we are compared to the universe that they can see. It’s one thing to read in books about the solar system, the galaxy, and the universe, but it’s quite another to SEE IT and realize there is something much greater than us! Continue Reading »
