6 Days To Go!
November 1, 2006
Maybe Karl Rove doesn’t need an October Surprise. Or maybe he is psychic and he foresaw John Kerry opening his mouth on Halloween! Hey, anything is possible these days. And you know what they say. It’s one thing to mess up, it’s worse when you try and cover it up. Guess what John Kerry did? Yep!
I am sure we’ll get a second opinion from John Kerry. When he says sonething, he later tells us what he meant. And then he tells us once more what the real meaning was. So what did he say this time? Let me quote.
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” Now, how is that a reference to George Bush, which is Kerry’s explanation of what he meant.
Kerry has a history (before he even ran for president in 2004) of going against the military, saying our troops slaughtered people, etc. Remember Viet Nam? Remember the Swift Boat veterans?
I did a little research on today’s military and here is what I found: 99.9% of the enlisted forces have at least a high school education, 73% have some college, 16% have an associate degree, and nearly 5% have a bachelor’s degreee.
Hey Kerry, this is not the Viet Nam era wherein people wre drafted. These are men and women who voluntered, made the choice, and are not really dumb after all. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Bush says, “thanks Kerry”. Again!

Got something to say?

Many of the pundits argue that Kerry’s name is not on the ballot and that his comments will have no bearing on this election. However, voters need to realize that Kerry is a prominent Democrat–one that the party has embraced and even nominated as their presidential candiate just two years ago. As such, the case can certainly be made that his views are representative of the party as a whole.
We must also remember Kerry’s history as it relates to his comments about US troops. After Vietnam, he accused US forces of atrocities so vicious, that their actions were “in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khann”. Just last year, Kerry accused US Troops on NBC’s Meet the Press of brutalizing Iraqi women and children in their homes. While he may have “botched the joke”, many will see that Kerry may have stated here exactly what he believes about our military.
