A GOOD DAY FOR NUMBER 43!

January 31, 2006

I am not talking Super Bowl, Seahawks, or Steelers. I’m talking about the son of #41. Bush got his man and he can go for broke tonight in the State Of The Union speech. As expected the Senate pushed through, on an up and down vote (58-42), the 110th USSC Justice: Samuel Alito. For whoever might be counting, we now have FIVE Catholics on the USSC.

It’s seems as though the day Martha Alito walked out of the Senate hearings in tears, it was all down hill for the Democrats. The political system in America stinks. And it’s not just from lobbying scandals either. And it seems that some people just won’t let a bad thing alone: they want to make it worse. And so we had the blantantly “interest group” led filibuster attempt that busted leaving Kerry and Kennedy holding the Pro-Choice banner in shreds.

Both Roberts and Alito are going to make major differences in where we as a nation go in our social justice. For some reason I don’t think Bush is done. With almost three years left, could he make yet another, or two, appointmnets to the USSC? Could that come down to be his real legacy? We’ll know in 34 months or less. And I bet they both are seen in the State Of The Union Address tonight. After all, they are Bush #43 trophies!

Now, about that speech tonight. There’s something that I sense about tonight: that it could be his best speech of the ones he’s done. He’s got the karma rolling in his direction. Oil is high and the Democrats aren’t letting us drill in Alaska or off shore America. He’s the war president when we’ve been put on notice that UBL is threatening us again. He’s the president who said Iran was one of the three in the axis of evil nations. If he can’t get up for this one, something’s wrong.

Ahh, why speculate, let’s let Bush speak and see!
