Character Assassination Time!

October 6, 2008

Is it that time already? For one, I am glad we’ve finally reached this death knell stage because it’s a reminder that the two year drawn out political campaigning for the office of president of the United States is about over. In fact, we’re now under one month to go. So, let the trash-smash mouth talk begin. And who better to get the ball rolling that Sarah Barracuda? In national politics, you always throw the VP candidate under the bus first. Continue Reading »

Stock Market Crash

October 5, 2008

The question is NOT will the stock market crash? The question is not will the stock market CORRECT. Hey, all of that stuff has already happened. Have you noticed the Friday closing numbers on the three major indexes? But, neither are we facing a depression style stock market decline of 90%. Enough people will commit suicide with Dow 7,000. It doesn’t need to drop to 1,200 (90% decline). Continue Reading »

Call Off The Depression!

October 3, 2008

Now that the Senate has passed the $700 billion bailout legislation, the House will be forced-shamed into doing teh same thing. Thus we have diverted a DEPRESSION, so they say. And lookie here. Swiss banking giant UBS on Thursday said it would swing into profit in the third quarter, as it seeks to regain client trust after successive quarters of losses on massive asset writedowns. Continue Reading »

Show Me The Money!

October 2, 2008

Until this past week, the US$ had taken a real beating. In light of the financial meltdown, one would think our currency would be worse; however, in the past week the Euro has taken a drubbing, the Pound a beating, and all other currencies have fallen in relation to the US$. Go figure! Continue Reading »

Two Tragedies Of Life

October 1, 2008

It’s been said for centuries that there are two tragedies to life. The first is when you don’t get what you want and the second is when you do get what you want. How many husbands or wives would say AMEN? But, let’s not get pesonal now. Let’s discuss the $700 BILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT! Somewhere I think of of the mistakes to getting the bill passed was in the name BAILOUT! Continue Reading »

Financial Meltdown Story

September 30, 2008

As we come to the last trading day of the third quarter, it’s hard to imagine things could get worse- but they can and most probably will. Even if Congress can revive a bailout bill, is there enough money to save the world from a serious recession or mild depression? Obama blames McCain, McCain blames Obama, Democrats blame Republicans, and Republicans blame Pelosi. Alot of good all that crap will do us! Continue Reading »

The House Bailout Bombs!

September 29, 2008

The Dow immediately dropped nearly 600 points. That’s right SIX HUNDRED, not SIX ZERO! The House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue package, ignoring urgent pleas from President Bush and bipartisan congressional leaders to quickly bail out the staggering financial industry. Would you beleive that Bush no longer has any credibility and that Nancy Pelosi might not have much either. Continue Reading »

Hurricane Ike SOS

September 28, 2008

Most of the people in Houston have their power back. Hard hit areas in the suburbs and surrounding rural areas where many trees and poles are down are next. And then there’s Galveston Island. What can one say about the destuction and catastrophic hit that it and Bolivar Peninsula took. It’s not power that’s missing on the coast but some 400 people who are not accounted for two weeks later. Continue Reading »

America: From Capitalism To Socialism

September 26, 2008

Everyone is focused on the number $700,000,000,000.00 as what it’s going to take to bail America out of its bankruptcy lifestyle. But does anyone think that will change anything? The philosophy is still SPEND! The lifestyle is still to BORROW. And we’ve done it so long that the only way to keep the house of cards from crumbling is to do away with the capitalistic society we were to the socialistic one we’re denying. Continue Reading »

Seven Hundred Billion Bailout?

September 25, 2008

The president has spoken. Ben Bernanke has been before Congress. Christopher Cox has let the SEC run wild. Paulson doesn’t want to be the man at Treasury when all hell breaks loose. Does anyone really know what’s going on? No way. What everyone wants is for the immediate problem to go away and for those that make millions a year to keep on making them and throwing the debt to our children. Continue Reading »

I Got You Babe!

September 24, 2008

How many remember that 1965 song by Sonny & Cher? Upon recording and releasing the song, it became the duo’s biggest single, their signature song, and a defining recording of the early hippie countercultural movement. In 1965, the single reached the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States for three weeks. I am sure many know that song, but homw many KNOW that deeper meaning- to the concept? Continue Reading »

Rebuilding New Orleans & Galveston?

September 24, 2008

How far should government go to protect people from their own insanity, risk-taking, and otherwise self-absorbed desires? After Katrina, the question was how smart is it to rebuild a city that’s under sea level, an empty fish bowl waiting to be filled up. In like fashion, how smart is it to build on ANY barrier island that’s sinking into the sea? Is that a fair question or not? Continue Reading »

The Word Became Flesh!

September 23, 2008

We ARE that word! Yes, you and I, and all of us! The simple 1,2,3 step of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is at play with all of us. Jesus is “the Son” and we are “the sons”. Not to trvialize what could not be; however, what Henry Ford (Son) bring into creation, we the sons (managers, supervisors, and line manufactureres) are recreating. All universal realities (not seen things) must come into a manifested form. Continue Reading »

An Earthen Vessel

September 22, 2008

The fact that we’re called earthen vessels doesn’t carry with it some sort of curse! Why would a benevolent Creator who is said to be LOVE, create that which is flawed or of little value. Enough already of the put down and meritocracy steps to free one of such low status. May we continue the journey of life “until Christ is fully developed in your lives (Gal. 4:19).” Continue Reading »
