Sunspot #1054 has belched and we might get to see some of that gas it passed in the form of a few auroras- maybe more. Number #1054 is just a class C sun spot though so not to worry, at least probably not. So, tell me when is an earthquake not an aftershock, but simply a new earthquake? If you are living in Chile it probably doesn’t matter. Chile’s new leader, Sebastian Pinera, had to have felt like he dodged the bullet when the massive 8.8 earthquake and tsunami hit Chile several weeks ago. It seems like we have to have a 6.0 earthquake a week or planet earth gets bored. A pre-dawn earthquake collapsed homes and killed more than 50 people in a mountainous region of southeastern Turkey Monday, government officials said. Reports vary if it was a 5.8, 5.9, or 6.0! The big difference in the Taiwan is that the earthquake was located on land and not at sea. The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index reported that it declined sharply in February. The Index now stands at 46.0 (1985=100), down from 56.5 in January. The Present Situation Index decreased to 19.4 from 25.2. The Expectations Index declined to 63.8 from 77.3 last month. Is there any wonder then that the stock market tanked yesterday?
