Common Sense Preparations- Nov.3-13

More and more people are talking about serious concerns POST ELECTION (Nov 3-13). The “noise level” is getting louder and it’s coming from: well-known economists, out there zodiac economics (but with a good-great track record), Cliff High’s Web bot predictions, economic historians using various formulas, physics scientists, etc.

I see three things that can be done in light of the plethora of cautions after ruling out wide-eyed extinction level predictions.

1-Change nothing-continue doing business as usual.
2-Make some interim common sense adjustments.
3-Think end of the world and do crazy stuff!

Personally, I’m not one to put my head in the sand and ignore Yellow flags. Nor am I a doom-n-gloom person expecting the end of the world or something close to it. What seems more than realistic though to me is that there are serious economic challenges that could cause BIG DISRUPTIONS in our banking system. There are realistic EMP potentials that could cause our digital bank account to not be available (can you say bank holidays?)

Does any remember the 17th century Dutch Tulip Mania?

Today, money in America is not backed by gold or anything other than our government (that’s a scary thought). Money is CREATED with little 1′s and 0′s on magnetic discs and subject to a lot of potential problems. Computer wealth is even less reliable than paper wealth which in itself is not credible. It is not real wealth but a derivative of wealth. It is nothing but VIRTUAL WEALTH!

It would be great if everyone could have a few silver pieces, a gold coin or two but I know that’s not possible for many who live pay check to pay check. Having CASH in hand (not in a checking account) from now until Thanksgiving seems reasonable to me. If you have to be a bit late on paying a bill, (without damaging your credit rating) that seems reasonable.

After all, this is just for a 2-3 week window!

Four days from now the American political scene will change! Obama and Hillary will be out of Dodge (America) for 2-3 weeks. Coincidental? Could just be! Regardless of who is where or who wins Nov. 3rd, there are way too many “YELLOW FLAGS” (some RED ones too) to do NADA!

Tsunami & Fire

We’re seeing more and more sun spots, more eruptions, and we’re probably just getting started- on 2012?

Oh yeah, there’s that 2010 thing first (November 2nd- called a mid-term election). But, back to the natural catastrophies.

Planes and helicopters packed with rescue workers and supplies landed for the first time Wednesday on remote Indonesian islands that were pounded by a 10-foot (three-meter) tsunami, sweeping away villages and killing at least 272 people. The first aerial surveys of the region revealed huge swaths of land underwater and the crumbled rubble of homes torn apart by the wave. One lay tilted, resting on the edge of its red roof, with tires and slabs of concrete piled up on the surrounding sand.

A tsunami alert was sounded but does a falling tree make a noise if no one is listening?

Two days after a powerful earthquake triggered the wave, the casualty count was still rising as rescuers and disaster officials finally reached the Mentawai island chain, which was closest to the epicenter and the worst hit. Bad weather had kept them away.

And then there was the FIRE (volcano)

Rescuers scoured the slopes of Indonesia’s most volatile volcano Wednesday after it was rocked by an eruption that spewed clouds of searing ash, killing at least 28 villagers including an old man known as the mountain’s spiritual gatekeeper. The blast eased pressure that had been building up behind a lava dome perched on the volcano’s crater, but experts said the worst may not be over. The lava dome could unleash deadly gases and debris if it collapses.

It’s not yet over!

“It’s a little calmer today,” said Surono, the chief of Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation. “No hot clouds, no rumbling. But a lot of energy is pent up back there. There’s no telling what’s next.” Mount Merapi, which translates as “Fire Mountain,” has erupted many times over the last 200 years, often with deadly results. In 1994, 60 people were killed, while in 1930, more than a dozen villages were incinerated, leaving up to 1,300 dead.

And, all of this is two years out from 12.21.2012!

Getting Out Of Dodge!

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton departed Washington on Wednesday for a two-week Asia trip meant to shore up US ties with its Pacific neighbors. Clinton departed Washington for her first stop, Hawaii, before traveling on to Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Australia and American Samoa.

And, the point is what?

She will be gone for all the election questions next week. And then there’s Obama. President Obama is schedule to visit four Asian countries; India, South Korea, Japan and Indonesia immediately after the US elections. In other words, Obama is getting out of the White House election glare as fast as he can and leaving the country for two weeks.

Harry and Nancy, you are on your own.

Regardless of how next week plays out, America is in the midst of a very divisive and toxic political climate that continues to have the heat turned up, not down. Maybe we should all retreat to that quiet place within and reacquaint ourselves with what LFIE is really all about.

Tea Party Trouble!

The press is clueless about the Tea party!

I wonder if even the Tea Partiers know what’s in the air, what’s in the water that they have been drinking, or who’s gotten inside their head. The press blathers back and forth with questions like who does the Tea Party help the most, Republicans or Democrats? The real answer is that long term, the Tea Party KILLS both!

The Tea Party is about a coming revolution (can you say social unrest?).

Unfortunately the government has gotten so BIG and so powerful that regardless of who is in office (donkey or elephant) it’s a CYA mentality that grows and grows. Ultimately the paradigm develops that POWER is to be used for their benefit. And, in order to stay in power, STUFF must be MADE UP.

We are in deep economic yogurt and we’re being lied to!

Much like in 1929 when Josiah Stamp wrote, “The government is very keen on amassing statistics. The collect them, add them, raise them to the nth power, take the cube root and prepare wonderful diagrams. But you must never forget that every one of these figures comes in the first instance from the village watchman, who just puts down what he damn pleases.”

A good example will be this Friday’s unemployment numbers! Have you ever seen how they just “make stuff up”?

Richard Maybury wrote recently, “The clearest way to look at politics isn’t, democrats vs. republicans, liberals vs. conservatives, or left vs. right, but LIBERTY vs. POLITICAL POWER!. Both major parties are on the side pf POWER, they ant as much as they can get. Their only disagreements are about which of them should have it, and which parts of your life they should control.”

And the answer is- ALL OF IT!

Revolutions are started by governments, not revolutionaries. No revolutionary can gather enough anger without it first being offered by the government and what you see in the Tea Party is exactly that! The Tea Party is not going away; however, the two major parties just may! And that’s not all bad!

10P3/Hartley 2 Or Comet Hartley

It’s definitely not Nibiru, nor planet X!

It’s the BIG GREEN COMET! The icy nucleus of comet 103P/Hartley 2 measures no more than a couple of kilometers across. That tiny nugget, however, is surrounded by an vast atmosphere of gas more than 150,000 km in diameter–about the same size as the planet Jupiter! And it’s coming our way.

And that means what?

At present, the comet is a 7th-magnitude object best seen through telescope. The comet glides by Earth only 11 million miles away on Oct. 20th. Two weeks after Comet Hartley has its close encounter with Earth, NASA will have a close encounter with the comet. The Deep Impact/EPOXI spacecraft is hurtling toward Comet Hartley now, and on Nov. 4th it will fly 435 miles from the comet’s active icy nucleus. The encounter will mark only the fifth time in history that a spacecraft has been close enough to image a comet’s core.

For astronomers this is an exciting visit.

Typically during the course of a year about a dozen comets will come within the range of amateur telescopes. Most quietly come and go with little fanfare, but during the upcoming weeks one rather small comet will be making an unusually close approach to the Earth. On March 15, 1986, astronomer Malcolm Hartley discovered a new comet on photographic images taken at the U.K. Schmidt Telescope Unit at Siding Spring, Australia.

At the time Hartley discovered it, the new found comet was an exceedingly faint object, with just a hint of a tail; it was about 25,000 times dimmer than the faintest stars that can be seen with the naked eye. After further images were obtained over the next several days, Hartley announced his discovery to the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams in Cambridge, Mass.

This fall, Comet Hartley 2 will again be passing through the inner solar system, reaching its closest point to the sun (called perihelion) on Oct. 28 at a distance of 98.4 million miles. And while en route to the sun, it will also make a very close approach to the Earth. In fact, on Oct. 20, the comet will be at its closest point to our planet at a distance of 11.2 million miles.

It’s quite unusual for any comet to approach this close to Earth. Such an event only happens on average perhaps three or four times a century. So, we should have an exciting show, but that’s about all…………..unless!

Tea Party Time (In Delaware)?

The liberal press has done everything that they can to suppress the ideas and ideals of the Tea Party movement, and it is a movement!  The elite simply do not get the mood of the nation. People are out of work, under employed, losing their homes through foreclosure, and emotionally wounded.

Meanwhile the president and Congress are living a totally different life. 

Major upset victories in Massachusetts and Alaska have sent shock waves through the establishment which includes Democrats AND Republicans. It’s the Tea Party against the ESTABLISHMENT. GOP establishment candidates like Delaware Rep. Mike Castle, left, confront a final round of challenges from Tea Party candidates such as Christine O’Donnell, as primaries are held in 7 states and D.C. today. 

Christine O’Donnell was given NO CHANCE against veteran Castle! 

However, Christine O’Donnell has taken the lead over Rep. Mike Castle in the bare-knuckle race for the Republican Senate nomination in Delaware, according to a new poll. The surge comes just at the right time for O’Donnell, with Delaware’s primary set for Tuesday along with contests in six other states. The Republican establishment in Delaware has engaged in a tough and personal battle with O’Donnell, criticizing her history of financial troubles while O’Donnell has described Castle as too moderate and gone so far as to question his manhood in a radio interview.  

Wake up Washington! We the people are tired of being messed around! 

Many in America don’t care WHO is running as long as the incumbent gets tossed out. Republicans and Democrats have not listened to the voice of the people. It is obvious that Obama has an AGENDA and he could care less what “we the people want”. Can you say national healthcare? As Christine O’Donnell said, “There’s a wave, a tidal wave coming to Delaware. We’re riding it — my opponent is drowning in it,” she said. “No one thought that we could get this far.”  

There’s more than a tidal wave out there. We just might see a TSUNAMI come November. We sure need one!

Koran & Other Bible Burning!

Once upon a time I used to think that the King James Version of the Bible was handed down from on high (can you say heaven) by Almighty God. The New Agers would say that the King James Version was channeled- by idiots!

Neale Donald Walsch said God told him that, “You have me all wrong”. 

I have now come to discover that there is a religion that idolizes a book even more than what I’d call radical fundamental Christian do. In my vocabulary it’s called BIBLIOLATRY. And as far as I can interpret the Bible that goes against the grain of the 1st and 2nd commandments! 

So, what’s one to think about the Rev. Terry Jones? Who? Who is the Rev. Terry Jones? Until the press sensationalized (it’s a slow news period) this so-called pastor of  50 some people, no one ever heard of him; however, he has now started a fire that spreading like- well, like wild fire! Having spent much of my life in Topeka, Kansas, I am familiar with the likes of Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist church! 

Thus if Terry Jones backs down from his Florida burning, expect Freddie to take over. 

Westboro Baptist Church, the small Topeka, Kan., church that pickets funerals of American soldiers to spread its message that God is punishing the country for being tolerant of homosexuals, has vowed to hold a Quran burning if Gainesville’s Dove World Outreach Center calls its off. But we have lit a fire and who knows where this is going to go? 

Springfield Pastor Bob Old said his decision to burn the Islamic holy book on September 11 has nothing to do with the agenda of the pastor in Florida or the controversy surrounding the mosque in New York. Bob Old said, “To the Muslim church I would say the reason I am doing on Saturday because I believe they worship a false god. They have a false text, a false prophet and a false scripture,” said Old.  

False text? Hmmm. Well let’s back up a year then and take a look at another situation! 

Marc Grizzard, the pastor of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, North Carolina, says that he and his congregation plan to burn Bibles on Halloween. But, he’s not burning the Koran as much as everything not KJV! Say what? Yep, Grizzard is ceremoniously burning, The New Revised Version Bible, the American Standard Version Bible, and even the New King James Version are all pronounced to be works of the Devil by Pastor Grizzard and his followers. 

Pastor Grizzard said: “I believe the King James version is God’s preserved, inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God… for English-speaking people. “We are burning books that we believe to be Satanic.” This dude is big time KJV addicted, and I mean ADDICTED! 

This could really be a  WILD WEEKEND! 

PS. And these are what we call Christians?

Is Dow 5,000 The Next Stop?

On August 1st we enter the sweet spot (no pun intended because it’s really SOUR) of the Cardinal Climax.

Then on August 15th, my last post, we encountered the turbulence of the Hindenburg Omen. But no worry, there must be TWO of those complicated events to kick in. So, what’s the problem? Well, the problem is that the second Hindenburg Omen has occurred. The Omen, a technical indicator which uses a plethora of data to foreshadow a stock-market crash, was tripped again on Friday, marking the second time since Aug. 12 it has occurred. (It also came close on Thursday, but one of its criteria fell short.)

This NOT GOOD NEWS!

The latest trigger has prompted the Omen’s creator, Jim Miekka, to exit the market. “I’m taking it seriously and I’m fully out of the market now,” Miekka, a blind mathematician, said in a telephone interview from his home in Surry, Maine. “I would’ve probably stayed in until the beginning of September,” depending on how the indicators varied. “That was my basic plan, until the Hindenburg came along.”

Why can’t most investors SEE what this BLIND mathematician does?

The Omen has been behind every market crash since 1987, but significant stock-market declines have followed only 25% of the time. So there’s a high likelihood that the Omen could be nothing more than a false signal. But that isn’t stopping Miekka from taking any chances, especially as September, typically the market’s worst-performing month, sits only one week away.

“It’s sort of like a funnel cloud,” he said. “It doesn’t mean it’s going to crash, but it’s a high probability. You don’t get a tornado without a funnel cloud.” He added he’s not currently shorting anything, although he may look to short Nasdaq stock index futures in the next few weeks, “depending on how the technicals go.”

Not everyone is as OPTIMISTIC as Miekka. Optimistic you say?

The Dow Jones Industrial Average will lose about half of its value over the next couple of years as it follows a Nikkei-like pattern of several sharp rallies in an overall decline, according to Charles Nenner, founder and president of Charles Nenner research. Stocks are currently in a bear-market rally, and looking at charts and past trends, unemployment and leading indicators suggest the Dow will drop to 5,000 in the next two to two-and-a-half years.

One of my favorite stock market watchers is Richard Russell.

Russell was around for the BIG ONE in 1929 and today he wrote, “I trust that most of my subscribers are on the sidelines with gold, cash and gold items. They say that the bears in Yellowstone National Park have become a danger to man. The bear on Wall Street will be a tragic danger to man”. 

Is 5,000 the next stop? Well, let’s drop below 10,000 first and then look further down the road. But, that might not take more than a day or so.

Cardinal Climax + Hindenburg Omen?

Just when you think it’s safe to let the kids to go outside and play again and when it looks like getting into the stock market is now the way to make money, along comes more of the DOOM-sayers! Gerald Celente may get the title of Dr. Doom, but he’s facing stiff competition these days.

Additionally, Obama seems to be making one stumble after another!

Why did he think he had to weigh in on the Ground Zero mosque mess? Doesn’t he already have enough on his plate than to ratchet up the rhetoric on religious fires. With the last name of Obama, not to mention the middle name of Hussein, throwing your hat in the ring on the side of anything Islamic doesn’t seem a smart thing to do.

But, back to the economic mess.

A double dip might look good compared to what many are forecasting for the remainder of 2010. I’ve already written about the Cardinal Climax-

It’s here and so far so good, but to make sure we don’t let our guard down, how about the possibility of the Hindenburg Crash or Hindenburg Omen?

There was a correction in the markets this week, and the sell-off triggered the Hindenburg conditions. The Hindenburg Omen occurs when an unusually high number of companies in the New York Stock Exchange reach 52-week highs and lows at the same time. The proportion of NYSE stock highs and lows must both exceed 2.2% of the total listed on the exchange. The Hindenburg Omen last occurred in October 2008. We all remember that event.

Right?

The good news is that it takes two Hindenburg Omen trading days within a 36 day window to trigger the end of life in the markets as we know it. Ah, that’s what I love about life. One doesn’t have to go to Las Vegas to gamble. You can go on line yourself and play every day- or at least until you run out of money.

The HEAT Is On- Or On The Way!

Make no mistake about it, the Al Gore crowd is on their way back!

We’re now coming out of the minimal part of the eleven year sun cycle and we’re now on our way to the the maximum part of the eleven year sun cycle- in cycle #24. The lack of sun spots over the past two years definitely cooled things down; however, it was nothing like the Maunder Minimum. The increase in earth quakes, sun spots, and overall increased HEATING isn’t about too many people smoking cigars, too many cars on the road, or cow flatulence. 

It’s the SUN baby! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen FOUR sun spots facing the earth at the same time; however, 1092-1095 are right there, sending out heat waves and other potentially disruptive electromagnetic stuff our way. Can you say coronal mass ejections? Solar activity is picking up and that gives some astronomers reason to wake up in the morning. “Ah the dawn of a new day… and what a day it was!” says Wouter Verhesen of the Netherlands. It’s hard to imagine that we would become “sun watchers”, and not sun worshippers. 

Who would have guessed fifty years ago that we would be seeing so much information being transmitted back from the sun on an hourly basis as that which is available to us now?

Additionally, the Perseids show is on the way!” Bill Cooke of the Marshall Space Flight Center writes,  ”Although the peak of the Perseids shower show is almost a week away, we saw five Perseid fireballs last night (Aug. 5-6). It’s a good sign that this year’s shower will be a good one.” In fact, we’re in for a LOT of stuff before this year is out, and let us pray that it will be mostly good! 

As for me here in Houston, I can’t wait to get August out of the way. How about you? 

Wheat Intolerant?

Did you know that approximately one out of every seven people experience the painful symptoms of wheat intolerance; often totally unaware that they even have the disorder.  They only know they are uncomfortable and ill most of the time, and don’t know how to change their life to feel better again. 

I know that because I have two people in my family that can’t do that!

In fact, I know some very good practitioners who can help you with your wheat problem if you really need some help. NOT ME! Hey, I like milk, cheese, caffeine, and about anything you want to put in front of me- on a plate. But, maybe God has decided to intervene in the “wheat-hysteria” and save us!

Have you ever thought of buying WHEAT FUTURES- as a way of making money?

Russia, the world’s third wheat exporter, Thursday banned grain exports for the next four-and-a-half months due to a record drought that has destroyed millions of hectares (acres) of its land and wheat futures shot up to new two-year highs on commodities markets after the sudden announcement from Prime Minister Vladimir Putin raised concerns about global grain supplies.

Wheat intolerants  rejoice!

“In connection with the unusually high temperatures and the drought, I consider it right to impose a temporary ban on the export from Russia of grain and other products produced from grain,” Putin told a government meeting. Russia earlier this week slashed its 2010 grain harvest forecast to 70-75 million tonnes, compared with a harvest of 97 million tonnes in 2009, owing to the worst drought for decades.

Let us not get too excited here though because we may be seeing something much bigger than a wheat shortage!

The old rickety Web Bot linguistics machine of Clif High has forecast that we’ll see great droughts throughout the world this year and as a consequence, food prices (all of them) will greatly escalate. Seriously. watch the headlines over the next thirty days and place your commodity bets without fear! 

Solar Tsunami Time?

It’s a first, or so they say.

Thanks to SOHO, NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, we know a lot more about the sun and thus our life on the third rock from the sun. On Sunday, few people were aware that we kicked off August with a very unusual event that’s now being called a SOLAR TSUNAMI. We know about sun spots, but what’s a SOLAR TSUNAMI?

It’s potentially not a good thing for us humans.

A solar eruption, called a coronal mass ejection, was spotted by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory which captures high-definition views of the sun at a variety of wavelengths. SDO was launched in February and peers deep into the layers of the sun, investigating the mysteries of its inner workings. And even when we do that we don’t know what we’re looking at or why!

Over at Space Weather dot.com they reported, “On August 1st, the entire Earth-facing side of the sun erupted in a tumult of activity. There was a C3-class solar flare, a solar tsunami, multiple filaments of magnetism lifting off the stellar surface, large-scale shaking of the solar corona, radio bursts, a coronal mass ejection and more. Click on the image to view just a fraction of the action.”

What’s it all mean Alfie?

Well, for one we’re seeing all kind of tremors around the globe. There are lots of 5 and 6 magnitude earthquakes going off. Here in the good old USofA we’re registering way too many California and Alaska 3-4.3 magnitude quakes. In other words, there’s a whole lotta shaking going on. How far will it go, we may not know until Friday.

Wednesday through Friday could be interesting!

Seeing the sun erupt on such a global scale has galvanized the international community of solar physicists. Researchers are still sorting out the complex sequence of events and trying to understand why they all happened at once. This “all at once” phrase is what we’re not so sure of. So, hang on as it might be a wild ride over the next 48 hours.

From 91L To Hurricane Colin?

 Is Colin going to come calling? 

It’s August 1st and what that usually means is that we should start seeing some of those standard hurricanes originating from West Africa. The first two (Alex & Bonnie) were home grown types. If Colin does become a hurricane tomorrow, (from a 91L), it will be the first Cape Verde hurricane. 

Okay a little information please. 

A Cape Verde-type hurricane is an Atlantic hurricane that develops near the Cape Verde islands, off the west coast of Africa. The average hurricane season has about two Cape Verde-type hurricanes, which are usually the largest and most intense storms of the season because they often have plenty of warm open ocean over which to develop before encountering land. 

So, where might this little storm go? 

The latest GFS model wants to bring the storm to the east of Florida and up the Atlantic coast, turning it into a hurricane. This morning’s run of the European model brought the system into the Gulf of Mexico as a hurricane, but the latest run brings a remnant low into Florida. So, while Colin isn’t, but 91L is, the Gulf Coast is an outside possibility for a visit. 

But, it’s early in the game and we have many more months to go. 

Right now, the model guidance is leaning against bringing this storm toward the Gulf of Mexico. Such things can and will definitely change, especially as we’re talking about a storm that’s probably six or seven days from reaching the United States. Regardless, Colin and all other cape verde storms are usually much bigger than what we’ve seen in Alex or Bonnie.

The Cardinal Climax Is Here

For several years many astrologers have been looking ahead to the August , 2010 date. It’s around August 1 that we have what’s known as the Cardinal Climax. No, that’s not someone’s idea of a Catholic’s priests fantasy. It’s a time when all hell should break loose on earth do to an alignment of the planets that’s seen once every 10,000 years or so. Who remembers the last time anyway? 

I’m sure someone can attest to the fact that they were reincarnated from that time. 

During the last few nights in July and the first few nights in August, Venus, Mars, and Saturn will form a small skinny triangle in the early evening sky. On July 31,2010, Venus will form the point of the skinny isosceles triangle. Mars and Saturn will form the base. The triangle will be oriented to point downward and to the right very low in the western sky as soon as it gets dark. 

On July 31, Mars and Saturn will separated by only about 3 to 4 times the diameter of the full Moon. Mars has a reddish glow, and will be below Saturn in the sky. Venus will be less than the width of a fist at arms length (for most people) below and to the right of Mars and Saturn. And the point is? 

Arche Crawford says the stock market will crash in August! 

Clif High says there will be a massive earthquake in the Pacific Northwest. 

Since I’m not an astrologer, but from Missouri (the Show Me State), I’m all ears and eyes. Let’s do this thing or move on (not dot.org move on mind you). It’s time to put up or shut up, until we have yet another date to worry about. Or maybe, just maybe the next week will prove that there’s more to the life of the universe than when Lindsay Lohan will get out of jail.
