Elite Intellectuals?

September 5, 2008

There are some in the press that have posited someone who has an IQ over 120 as not only intellectual but an elitist, as though somehow the two are synonymous. And, if someone can give a good speech they are somehow just show and not subsance. Republicans have been hammering Obama for that which Sarah Palin did Wednesday night (excepting the below the belt shots).

News Flash! Both Obama and Palin had and have their speeches written for them. They just deliver the words! :-)

The goal of any individual should be to not only use the brain, exercise the mind, and become all that we can, but to also excel in our spiritual abilities: to enhance our consciousness that we might add to the spirit pool in a positive way. It’s great to give our kids a good education, nice clothes, and $200 tennis shoes (not to mention a $40,000 car in high school). But to withhold spiritual guidance is the worst kind of parenting.

Even if you’re an atheist! :-)

Michelle Obama played down her Ivy League education, as does Barack, for fear of the “elitist tag”. A top drawer education is nothing to be ashamed of unless you didn’t have any spiritual guidance to help you do something with what’s stored in those neurons- whether they be in your brain, heart, or other organs: maybe all?

The next generation needs a true foundation of practical spirituality. If we’re ever going to solve our problems, let alone those of the world around us, somewhere we’re going to need to make spiritual development close to the top of our goals: 2012 notwithstanding. We desperately need a merging together of the collective consciousness because no man, nor nation is an island. That’s not an endorsement for the United Nations, but for the realization that we as humanhood are one.

How much time did you spend today on furthering your education……….and enhancing your spirit being? :-)
