Jihad Central?

Dr. Phares, director of the Future Terrorism Project at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a visiting fellow at the European Foundation for Democracy and several books on the Islamic jihad against the West including the most recent “Future Jihad,” said that Britain “is one of the most intense battlefields for the jihadists, al Qaeda or not, in the whole European continent. Almost every July there has been either an attack or a foiled plot.

Speaking on Fox’s “Geraldo at Large” Saturday night, he described the attacks in London and Scotland as being “not just about anger … Not just about [former Prime Minister Tony Blair]” but “about the British government, so they [the Jihadists] are going to test it [the British government] and see far they will go in the reaction.”

But, America isn’t off the hook!

A secret U.S. law enforcement report, prepared for the Department of Homeland Security, warns that al Qaeda is planning a terror “spectacular” this summer, according to a senior official with access to the document.

U.S. officials have kept the information secret, and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said today on ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” that the United States did not have “have any specific credible evidence that there’s an attack focused on the United States at this point.”
