Law Of Relaxation
August 6, 2008
There are all manner of laws in life: some are optional and some are mandatory. The law of relaxation is both an optional and a mandatory law IF one is seeking a spiritual life of joy. In the spiritual and also the mental world, the less effort the better. In other words, as Isaiah 30:15 says, “In quiet and confidence you shall find strength.”
In brief, the spiritual principle is simply- CHILL!
The Psalmist put it this way, “Be still and know that I am God“. We can’t know who we ARE, nor can we truly be satisfied with ourselves until we KNOW GOD: know self, the I AM. The law of relaxation will help us to enter the law of substitution, where God’s will can be more easily accomplished.
Emmet Fox had it right when he said, “On the physical plane, usually the more effort we make, the greater the result. The exact opposite, however, is the case with thought (spirit).”
Finding the WILL of God for our lives should be the primary goal. Trying to build something out of the pieces that have been assembled for something else is to waste effort. One can’t very well make a bicycle out of the pieces, parts, and instructions that come to build a wagon. While we instinctively know that, if we’re going about life as WE choose to live it, without consulting the blueprints (Spirit), we’re wasting a lot of time, and soon frustration, anxiety, and anger will manifest.
REST! In the ONE whom we ARE.
