Mind Altering Drugs

December 13, 2007

I think that it is amazing that the likes of Aldous Huxley and more recently Daniel Pinchbeck of 2012 fame, made it through their mind-altering experiments. Huxley, in his book the Doors Of Perception, tried to articulate what he’d experienced with mescaline. Here’s my take on this two-sided coin.

Science will tell us that any form of “consciousness” must come from something physical, like a chemical. Can you say mescaline? Science tells us that mind-altering drugs change the brain chemistry. Huxley put it this way, “To make biological survival possible, Mind at Large has to be funneled through the reducing valve of the brain and nervous system. What comes out at the other end is a measly trickle of the kind of consciousness which will help us to stay alive on the surface of this particular planet.”

Only he’d know about that. :-)

But, this lines up with what “non-dogmatic scientists” (true scientists) are finding out. In other words, mescaline simply put a CRACK in the brain which really operates more as a mental FILTER- lest we not be able to handle life. And that aligns with Leonard Cohen (who also had his share of stuff) when he wrote the song, Anthem, wherein some of the lyrics read, “There’s a crack in us and that’s how the light gets in.”

Instead of allowing for a few cracks that some light might get in, our world is totally cracking up and the results are not going to be pretty because the mind altering drug that’s running rampant throughout the world is a hot combination of arrogance, non-tolerance, and separation.

We are ONE with the universe and any separation makes the house divided, which will eventually fall!
