Mitt Romney Withdraws

February 7, 2008

In what was billed as a second send-off for Mitt Romeny before CPAC today, it turns out that it was a sending-away as Romney withdrew from his presidential bid. That means he gets to keep his delegates and be somewhat of a player at the convention without having to spend more of his millions.

So, Michael Bloomberg now has more information with which to make his decision and John McCain now has a couple of hours to maybe change what he’ll say when he meets with CPAC leter in the day. He really had no chance, and neitehr does Mike Huckabee. So, for the Republicans, they can now save up their money and watch while the Democrats beat each other up over the next few months.

Barack Obama came out of Super Tuesday with more momentum than he had going in to it and that was a lot. He currently leads Hillary by a few delegate votes if one does not count the Super Delegates.

Howard Dean lamented the closeness of the race and felt like there might be a brokered convention. The Democrats haven’t had such since 1952. So, what will the Super Delegates do between now and convetion time, if anything?

In light of Mitt’s political departure, what will the Democrats do- if anything?
