Optimism Opium Or Obamageddon?
June 23, 2009
If your head is in the sand, all looks well, albeit rather dark and grainy. But if you are a follower of Gerald Celente (“There’s not a better trend forecaster than Gerald Celente. The man knows what he’s talking about.” — CNBC) and you’ve read his “Summer 2009″ issue of The trends Journal, you might want to put your head in the sand. This issue is entitled, “The History of the Future: Obamageddon Trends 2012.
It’s not a pretty picture at all, and that’s a major understatement!
Celente writes, “In the Spring of 2009, delusion was in full bloom. The sentiment was that the global economic emergency was ending. Americas stock market was up 37% from the March 9 lows. Hope and optimism were broadcast. Trillions of dollars backed by NOTHING were magically manufactured. beneath the media hype, Obama’s rock star gig was met with mixed reviews at the April 2009 G-20 meeting in London. But, from here in 2012 there are now food riots, tax protests, farmer rebellions, student revolts, homeless uprisings, tent cities, ghost malls,………. and general strikes.”
I only listed a few of the things that Gerald Celente saw from 2012.
Who knows if he is right about the next four years? What I do know is that he’s been RIGHT so often in the past that it’s sacry thinking he could even be half wrong. Here’s some past comments on Celente.
1-”If Nostradamus were alive today, he’d have a hard time keeping up with Gerald Celente”. — New York Post
2-”When CNN wants to know about the Top Trends, we ask Gerald Celente”. — CNN Headline News
3-”Those who take their predictions seriously … consider the Trends Research Institute”. — The Wall Street Journal
4-”A guy that obviously knows his trends.” — Bill O’Reilly
I don’t know what the world will look like in 2012 even though I write extensively about it (www.2012FinalFantasy.com) and have for years. This I do know. We’re doing financial things (bailouts, printing money, taking over corporations, telling other CEO’s how to run their business, etc.) that DO NOT WORK! SOCIALISM does not work and we’re seeing it up close and personal (and I’m not a Republican drum-beater who listens to El Rushbo, nor Sean Hannity). I’m a follower of some of the wisest financial guru’s with decades of experience (Harry Schultz and Richard Russell to name two). They are all very concerned.
But, like with the national health care proposals, Obama doesn’t have any “street-wise” people making the decisions. Instead there are theorists, politicians, and number crunchers. Where’s the town doctors and the people who are practicing medicine. I love Kathleen Sebelius, but she’s not the one who should be the 21st Secretary of Health and Human Services.
May Obama LISTEN to some other voices than just the 1992-2000 Bill Clinton era re-treads!

Got something to say?

It is hard to imagine a situation where there are food riots, hyperinflation, kidnappings (a la Mexico) and pretty much a complete breakdown of our economic and perhaps our social system…. but, it has happened to great nations before, especially in times of serious economic collapse.
Gerald may not be right about everything he is predicting for 2012, but even if he is half right, it is going to be a bad situation. As Celente said in an early 2009 interview: “It will be unlike anything we have seen in our lifetime”
