Osama bin Laden

Osama bin Laden is reported to be ready to release a new tape to the Muslim world. Does he speak for them? All of them? I am sure that George Bush will leave office with many regrets, at least I hope he does, but one of the greatest regrets has to be his inability in nearly 8 years to find, let alone kill this nemesis. Bushie still has 7+ months left to get the deed done; however, the clock is running out.

Al-Qaeda operatives have been whispering and sending messages that Osama bin Laden will shortly deliver a “very strong” message to Muslims, a website used by Islamist militants announced on Sunday. “To the Islamic ummah (nation), soon, God willing, a very strong address from the lion of Islam, Sheikh Osama bin Laden,” the Internet site said.

Is OSAMA hijacking the Islamic faith or advancing it?

The announcement comes two days after an audio message posted on the Internet in which bin Laden slammed Western leaders for taking part in Israel’s 60th birthday celebrations. “The participation of Western leaders with the Jews in this celebration confirms that the West supports this ugly Jewish occupation of our lands and that they stand in the Israelis’ trench against us,” he said on Friday.

Bin Laden vowed that Muslims would battle on for Palestine.

“We will continue the fight against the Israelis and their allies… and we will not give up one inch of Palestine, God willing, as long as there is one sincere Muslim on this earth.” George W. Bush was among top leaders who joined in Israel’s 60th anniversary celebrations, an occasion marked by Palestinians as a “catastrophe.” Bush addressed the Israeli parliament on Thursday at the start of a regional tour, praising the Jewish state and hailing what he called “unbreakable” ties between the two nations.

For Muslims the “law of the land” is the Koran. There is no room for democracy, a Republic, or even a secular concept of government. A great failing of our administration (and past ones) has been their inability to see that not all cultures want what our culture has- or is. And it’s not our duty to impose any form of government (democracy included) on others. There is no separation of church and state in the Islamic belief system.

Thus, for Osama bin Laden there’s no contradiction or conflict, nor is it in anyway inconsistent behavior to come from prayers or offering incense to Allah and beating your wife because she’s not been obedient to her husband. It’s in the Koran! And there’s many Americans who feel Obama (not Osama) is a Muslim so it’s a miracle he’s gotten as far as he has.
