Project Common Sense

January 9, 2009

Feedback from readers runs from the nothing is going to happen to the fear that something is coming; from religious (Christian and others) God will save me to what can we do to prepare; and finally, from who cares to what should one think of the historical mentions of 2012.

Let’s use common sense! And what would that look like?

The purpose of this web site is to INFORM people about areas of history, science, and philosophy that most will take no time to consider let alone read. Most of the scientific facts are so deep one has to have a degree in mathematics, cosmology, and own a constellation software program to track the heavenlies.

I do not believe the world is going to end December 21, 2012.

But, I also believe that there is enough scientific evidence coming in or around the year 2012 to make it look like a “perfect storm” of the worst kind. We need to be giving more time, attention, and money to areas like “Project Spaceguard” which is a multinational joint venture attempting to locate any earth-threatening objects headed our way. And believe it or not, the possibilities are immense.

However, that means we need to spend at least $20-$25,000,000 a year to do the project justice. Maybe we could tap into the BAILOUT funds and potentially bail out planet out. When one jet fighter costs around $20,000,000, why don’t we build one less each year and spend that money tracking the heavens?

Too much common sense?

That said, isn’t it strange that ancient societies for tens of thousands of years have spoken or written of the time we call 2012; and the Mayans particularly were able to come up with a winter solstice date that had some meaning to them. End of the world? I don’t see that. End of the world as we know it? I sure hope so! :-)
