QUICKLY BRING BACK GRETA!
July 1, 2006
It is amazing how fast news stories can change. One day all we hear is THIS and the next day it is all about THAT! So much of our news and life these days is “news driven”!
All you could hear on Fox recently was the news out of Aruba. Aruba has been put on the map and the only story in this nation was the Natalee Holloway story. Day after day after day. The story was sooo big that Greta knocked O’Reilly out of first place in news ratings.
Fox sent Geraldo to Aruba, Greta to Aruba, Carol McKinley and a half dozen other correspondents. There has to be one per hotel: and there are a lot of hotels in Aruba. But guess what? Forget the Natalee story. Stop the presses, change the interviews, begin new research. The news for the summer will be about the next Supreme Court justice. Maybe a couple of them.
In the midst of a quiet Friday morning came the letter delivered to the White House. Sandra Day O’Connor had resigned! And so get prepared for acrimony on top of insults as Democrats and Republicans vie for some air time about their opinion as to who the next nominee should be.
So, quickly, get Greta on the next plane out of Aruba. We need her to cover this story so that it is officially On The Record! And just for grins, my top three candidates for Bush to fill the vacancy (in case he’s reading this site) would be: J. Roberts Luttig, John Roberts, or Edith Hollan Jones. Of course, it’s hard to not have Alberto Gonzales in there since he’s a Bush favorite and recently approved by the Senate for Attorney General.
