Rush Limbaugh

January 24, 2008

The king of radio talk show has spoken- again. And he is shocking his listeners in a way that none would have thought possible. What’s the big news? Rush has said that he may NOT support the Republican nominee for president. Hey, that’s not news to me. I wouldn’t either if the TWO he mentioned are the parties nominee. One isn’t really a Republican and the other one represents the ugly side of religion that is DIVISIVE when Jesus called us into UNITY!

Limbaugh stunned his listeners by announcing that he might not support the Republican presidential nominee in this year’s election. Limbaugh said on Monday’s show: “I can see possibly not supporting the Republican nominee this election, and I never thought that I would say that in my life.”

The reason: “You don’t have a genuine down-the-list conservative” among the GOP candidates.

“Wherever you go here in this roster of candidates, you’re going to be able to point out ‘not conservative, what he did there is not conservative’” Rush said. The Republican front-runners want the nomination “because it’s their turn,” he also stated. “We tried that in ’96 with Bob Dole and now they’re running the same scenario. “I’m telling ya, it’s gonna come down to which guy do we dislike the least. And that’s not necessarily good.”

The kicker in all this is that Limbaugh’s remarks were in light of statements he made about GOP candidates Mike Huckabee and John McCain last week. If those are the two and one certainly wouldn’t be, then I agree.

I have three horses in this years highly unusual race.

In the Republican horse race, I am a Mitt Romney supporter.

In the Democratic horse race, I am a Barack Obama supporter. In fact, I’ve donated to his campaign. He reminds me of Jack Kennedy. And we need someone with a message of HOPE and the two symbols that he represents.

But then there’s my ten New Year’s predictions wherein one of them was about who I thought would actually win the nomination in 2008. And guess what? He’s not even announced that he’s going to run for the office in 2008 because he’s not a member of either or the two major parties. I am talking about Michael Bloomberg or course. He’s not on the South Carolina primary, or any so far.

But the bottom line for me is straight forward. ANYONE BUT HILLARY! And I’m not a sexist! I’d vote for Condi Rice any day. :-)

I am delighted that Rush Limbaugh provides a voice for the Republican core conservatives – we need that, when the media backs liberals whether they are Democrats or supposed Republicans like John McCain.

Rush speaks for me (no not on every issue, but on many), and I understand his frustration over McCain. I share his frustration – I mean, how can the Republican party endorse McCain when he isnt a conservative and seriously considered leaving the GOP altogether? I know that sounds incredible, but he could have been John Kerry’s Vice Presidential running mate. So what does that say? No true conservative would have ever even considered that – not when John Kerry is such an ardent liberal.

But that is the problem McCain bends over backwards to work with the Democrats and has, in my opinion, lost his moral compass in doing so. No I dont think liberals are immoral, but having an “open borders” policy is horrendous. John Mccain and Ted Kennedy leaders in this Amnesty venture, should have their heads examines.

So Rush is understandably upset and concerned that Republicans wont have a choice this year, but will be forced to support McCain while holding their nose, because we fear a socialist could take the White House – and that would be unthinkable. So if there isnt a clear choice for a conservative now, I dont like it, but some conservatives will not endorse McCain…and if Rush is one of them, so be it…he is sending a strong message…then…

What bothers conservatives more has been McCains efforts to poke the eye of anyone who is truly conservative and, he has always, had a good let hook for the President, underminding his actions on: taxes, Gitmo, terrorist and prisoner interrogation (might as well be the new ACLU chairman -McCain!), and helped provide a vehicle to prevent/stall judicial nominee acceptances. McNasty has been on a war path against W…especially after he lost to W last time.

But not all is bad, at least ,McCain supported the surge, but I want him to support a surge to put the wall up along the border. Now! That’s one issue I wanted McCain to differ with on the President – instead he just added fuel to his fire..and the whole country is loosing – while Al Qaeda could be pouring over the border and setting up camp – the bomb is ticking cant we stop the flood???

And illegal aliens arent the only things crawling over the border – crime, drugs, human trafficking victims, violent crimes, anchor babies, TB – close the border now. Ethically treat the illegal aliens that are here. Provide a means to eventually become a citizen as is proposed.,(bnd dont make it easy), and give preference to those already in line. Some people have waited for years. And PLEASE stop the open border policy. I call it that. Becasue that is how I see it. All soveriegn nations have a right to have a real border, why is the USA the exception? I want to know…

So let Rush sqawk – few people do for me, and Fox News doesnt nor do the newspapers …therefore, I am thankful that Rush is out there, but please vote …Rush it is a great opportunity to have a voice.

Rush is a very unique voice and we suffer in America because we don’t have enough independent thinkers like he is.

rush,am i the only one worried about who this man “Obama”is? Here is a man about to be a contender for the Presidency of the United States of America, and he has as many ties to Africa,as the United States. I am concered on many levels. This is not an Andrew young,Colin Powell, or a Barbara Jordan, who ancestors,by their sweat and blood, have helped, in no small way, to make America what it is today. This is a man who is half African and half American. While his right side faces the American flag, and his right hand is on the Bible, his left side faces Africa and his African people, with his left hand on God knows what. Somewhere in Africa, there is an African man who’s son is about to lead the most powerful free nation in the world. What impact will this make on both countries? Will we be trading Iraqi problems for African ones? Where is this man standing one “the right to beear arms?” . does he believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God,or does he pray to Alllah! Do we just set back and not pay any attention to his other obvious ties to Africa? Someone needs to wake this country up. Has he ever had duo citizenship? what are his interests beyond our borders????????

1-He is a Christian. He attends a protestant Christian church.
2-Being black and having a Muslim name, for me, provides an opportunity for America to have an “image” that symbolizes “reconciliation”.
3-He grew up in Hawaii, later Indonesia, and then America where he graduated from Columbia University, and then Harvard law school. His father was was black and was killed in a car accident while he was very young while his mother was white and born in Wichita, Kansas (she in 1995 I believe).
    4-I see nothing to fear.

Got something to say?
