Theory Of Everything

July 3, 2008

Einstein felt like a loser because he couldn’t find the one theory that proved all theories. Scientists are becoming more and more frustrated because all that they thought simply no longer is so. It’s not that they got gravity wrong or that 2+2= 4, but that the empty space (dark matter), the vacuum that was to have the lowest energy, simply doesn’t. Worse yet, it appears that empty space is the most powerful.

Scientists are wrestling with what’s real and what’s not. Aren’t we all? :-)

Is there a theory of everything? Could that be God- the God Consciousness? If there is an M theory, or a String Theory is that the end of the line? What if there are now eleven dimensions. Wnhat does that tell us? How far down the rabbit hole does that lead us?

As theoretical physicist Sean Carroll at the California Institute of Technology put it, “Physicists are missing sometbhing fundamental about the way the universe works. We’ve made a prediction on the basis of our best theories and it is wrong- wildly wrong. That means we don’t just tweak a paraeter here and there, we really have to think deeply about what our theories are.”

I love that!

Wouldn’t it be great if the church could say something like that? Something like you know folks, we’re really not seeing many miracles, transformation doesn’t seem to be the goal, and well, if we’re going to see life change maybe we need to change. I believe it was also Einstein who said, “You can’t solve a problem with the thinking that gve you the problem in the first place.”

So why has religion settled in to a conservative and hold the fort mentality? Why not give some things a try that have never been looked at or tried? Is there something wrong with making a mistake, learning by experience, or even failing from time to time? The “we’re perfect and righteous” simpy isn’t being beleived by anyone. So, why keep pretending?

The everything that scientists and the whole world are looking for is the God that resides within us. Go within and understand and then come back out and love.
