West Meet East!

June 26, 2008

We who live in West believe we have the bull by the horns. The East has never heard of Horace Greeley, so “going West” isn’t an option. Neither is “goign East” the answer, unless you’ve always been “Westernized”. There is a ONENESS that we must come into which means we Americans who seldom travel like the East (less than 20% have passports), need to embrace some of their customs.

Some of the tantric paths followed by the East just might slow down our rate of destruction, give us new life, and open our world to some exciting insights. As I’ve moved from religious Christianity that’s primary invovled in externals and law, and into esoteric Christianity which focuses more on transformation, life has been (to use a political phrase) FIRED UP: and ready to go!

But the going is SLOW! :-)

Tantra is the Asian body of beliefs and practices which, working from the principle that in the universe what we experience is nothing other than the concrete manifestation of the divine energy of the Godhead that creates and maintains that universe, seeks to ritually appropriate and channel that energy. We must not be afraid or who we are. In fact, we should be fearful of not knowing.

In the exploration of non-ordinary states of consciousness we move out of our comfort zone and are forced to ask ourselves questions to which there may be no answers or worse yet, answers we don’t want to hear. Christianity will never come into the fullness of understanding or the life of Jesus, who became the Christ until we comprehend two vital starting points.

1-Jesus was from a Jewish culture!
2-The Bible was written in an Eastern mindset.

Our Paulian, Roman, and Aristotelian principles and formulas don’t work- not fully. The Bible as not written to be interpreted as most Westerners do- literally. We must come to embrace a non-dual universe. It’s not West or East, nor West against East, but West meet East and enjoy ONENESS!
